If we got an offer for Fryatt, would you sell him?

I have to be honest and say I don't know who we would get in instead of him but we had no trouble picking up all these unknown Man U kids for peanuts

The amount of goals can't just be down to Fryatt, we've got to look at how many goals the midfield get, apart from Koren.

Look at Reading, some of their midfielders have as many goals as their strikers.

There are things we need to work on in the summer, both defensively and offensively. I'd like to see Fryatt back here with someone up front with him and Koren behind them. The signing of Josh King would be brilliant as well.

The fact that a host of NPC would be chasing Matty should he become available tells you everything.. sell him definiteley not.

That's exactly what I was saying. I just picked our two best players and said even they aren't perfect, I was making the point you've just made that no one is perfect, and that fans needn't shed tears over me saying Fryatt has a weakness because every player has one.

At the moment we have square pegs and round holes. NB isn't going to change from the 4-2-3-1 formation we've all come to love (and hate). Fryatt himself on the radio last night said he was 'frustrated' that the lone striker role was hard work, often going long periods without touching the ball or scoring. When Burnsy asked if he would be staying, he didn't say 'I'd love to stay because I'm enjoying my football, and it's a great club' What he did say was 'I am
contracted for another 2 years'. A kind of non committed response. I like Fryatt, he is a good player, but I think he's one of our few saleable assets, and I can see offers for him, and I can see offers being accepted. Family circumstances etc.

I wouldn't have thought there'd be a lot of offers under normal circumstances but because he seems so reluctant to commit, I'd guess his agent is ringing round midlands clubs trying to stir up interest. I bet he's crossing his fingers for Nige to come in.

Why who will Nige be with next season if Leicester do not get promoted?

As they're eight points off the play-off's, with six points available, I don't think there's much chance of them getting promoted.

Possibly because he wants to go. I don't want him to stay unless he is fully committed to the team. I might be totally wrong but I suspect he is wanting to move.

If that is true then fair enough he has to go but not the original question of the thread. He has not indictated to anyone that he wants to leave and is wanted by the management as far as I am aware but I suspect that we will only have him another year as the commute will take its toll on him. One thing that has just occured to me is that during his intervioew when asked by Burns on Humberside if he is staying he mentioned that he is contracted to the club (not a direct quote), isnt this what NP said before he jumped ship? mmmmmmmmm (strokes beard)

That's what I thought, if you're looking to move and you're put on the spot about it you obviously can't just admit it so what does he say? I'd suggest just talking about his contract is the most diplomatic thing to say in that situation.

I really dont know why people struggle with this. If he did indicate he wanted to leave he would lose the rights to all future monies owed to him. If he doesnt say that but a club closer to his home miraculously puts in an offer the club decide is too good to refuse he gets all future payments. This is why you VERY rarely hear of someone putting in a transfer request, the only time they do is if they could treble their salary in the process so it makes financial sense. Instead they make the odd subtle comment in the press to alert potential suitors and their agent works his a55 off in the background.

I'll be stunned if he's with us at Christmas.

Still at Leicester, I know their owners aren't the most patient of people but he'll get a chance to get them geared up for a promotion push next season.

He's got a far busier summer than Barmby has. I don't envy him having to get rid of so many average players on top money.

No we shouldn't be selling our best players.

As for some of the criticism of Fryatt, at times I do agree he takes a few too many touches when he has chance to take a shot first time, but if Fryatt was a better finisher (I think he is a very good finisher, especially for this level), then he probably wouldn't be playing in the Championship!!

Give Fryatt a strike partner instead of him having to create the chances himself and he'll get 20 - 25 goals a season. How can he score when he's feeding off scraps in some games - blame the lack of chances provided by the midfield for our lack of goals - not our service starved forwards.

The perfect striker to partner Fryatt is available on a free this summer. Has scored +30 goals this season and scores plenty with his head and all.... Ched Evans! If he's cleared of any wrong doing in his court case then he'd be perfect.

Nicks summer deals are sorted once the Allams give the green light. <ok>
