I know huns think the BBC is anti-Rangers but I don't think you would go that far. Maybe another protest seeing as the last one was so successful. Anyway, who are these lovely gentlemen arguing with an official? please log in to view this image
Alex McLeish May 2005: "I said after our game at Hearts that there would be other controversial decisions between now and the end of the season," stated McLeish, "and I think that has been proved correct. I think the institution that is Rangers has been unsurpassed in 132 years in terms of dignity. We would never bring into question the integrity of the officials."
Desperate stuff from the Timothy here, trying to justify the actions of their own manager by trawling the chronicles of time to find clips of random managers questioning decisions of refs, and no-one denies that managers have all gotten a wee bit angry with officials in the past, it's part of the game. It's the trying to compare the actions of the angriest manager in history with a gentleman of the game in Walter. Lennon got sent to the stand in a friendly FFS - A FRIENDLY
There in a nutshell is the root of the problem. Walter was an angry, moaning faced **** but you lot have him up on a pedestal as some sort of Messiah. Why? Because he managed Rangers. For ****'s sake, he tried to get to big Mixu at the side of the pitch and had to be restrained. But we'll just brush that under the carpet eh? Alex Ferguson is probably the angriest man in football but hey, you just continue with your vilification of Neil Lennon. Even though you all claim not to care about him.
That's your problem. Smith and Ferguson get respect because of their age and experience. Lennon went from trying to batter refs when he was playing and generally annoying opposing supporters to being a manager yet still acting like a **** in the dug-out. We don't have a problem with Lennon behaving like that, like we've said, it's funny. It's the Celtic fans who have a problem with it.
lennon has been involved in more spats / fights / "incidents" in 2 seasons than Walter Smith has in his whole career. Lennon is a digusting tracky wearing ned **** who can't keep his temper in check. He is a thug, a bully, a ned, a classless scumbag with zero respect from anyone apart from the daft ****s who chant about IRA every week. Smith was a highly respected manager throughout Britain, with class and respect who occassionally in his 20 odd years in management lost his temper. Never did he charge the field to scream in a referees face. The fact that Lennon is up for 4 SFA charges after he's already won the league says it all
You and EDGE need to agree on what this strategy of not caring actually entails. When Lennon tries to assault another SPL manager like Walter did then I'll take lectures from huns on highly respected managers.
At least you admit he was a problem. Not that you would believe it reading the Scottish press. You'd think the moany-faced old bastard walked on water. Succulent lamb indeed.
Edge and Nev only believe what they read in the papers as long as it's crtical of Celtic and or Lenny. Anything negative about Rangers is to be ignored.
Who gives a **** what the press say? Lennon is Celtics problem NOW. Everything else is made up pish to make the paranoid amongst you feel oppressed.
I don't read papers Russ, I have an IQ over 20. Nor do I trawl interweb forums looking for offence or to be annoyed.
1st of all - that pic of uncle wattie farting on an official and wafting it in his face is a disgrace!! 2ndly - lennon needs to cool it a bit - thats all - talking about smith as if he would never do such a thing is a load of guff - the fact is that these days lennon has cameras trained on him that many managers didnt have back then - smith was a plank at times in his own career (chic young interview, while hilarious, is not the actions of a gentleman) and mclean was infinately worse. lennon needs to have a word with himself - but i think he will - folks bashing on about "neds" and "tracksuits" need to get themselves a bit of perspective - their own hatred of the player is blinding them unless its more sinister....... ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I don't condone Neil Lennon's behaviour any more than I would any other manager, such as Walter Smith, when he tried to attack another SPL manager. This thread is about the reaction to Lennon's behaviour and how he's treated. It's the OTT reaction from the press and fans of other clubs that's the problem. And I'll give you an example of how it's twisted by the Scottish press. Australia. Celtic playing a friendly game. Small aeroplane flies over carrying a banner about Rangers winning 3IAR. Lennon's reaction? According to the Scottish press? Neil Lennon rages at banner. According to the local Australian press? Lennon laughs off banner. Nutshell ps You may not care about the press and what they have to say but a lot of people do and we've seen where that leads.
