I certainly hope he isn't rushed into a Ferrari. We're still a long way away from him proving he is at his best and even then i would ease him back in with a third driver role. On an unrelated Kubica question. When did he prove himself to be as good as people say? He was undoubtably very strong, but i dont see the reasoning behind statments like SilverArrows while the is such a strong field at the moment.
His drive around Monaco in 2010 was more than enough for me to be convinced. He was in the 5th best car all season and he trounched Schumacher and he almost beat Nico to 7th.
Still think he never got the chance to prove himself. He failed to beat Heidfeld convingly and then had no real benchmark with Petrov in 2010. That said his performance at "drivers circuits" was exceptional. I just feel that we dont know how he would have fitted into the equation with the likes of Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton and Button.
Anyway rumours are saying he drove for a bit in that car, but not the whole event, somebody else was driving it or so the rumours are saying.
how would he have lost something? I really have trouble understanding why people are so quick to write someone off as finished, maybe people should watch 'reach for the sky' it's about a bloke called Douglas Bader, a British WW2 Ace fighter pilot who had wooden legs. When he got shot down, captured (probably friendly fire) and sent to a POW camp they had to send him to Colditz because he was so dogged in trying to escape. A man with wooden legs, and you think a guy that's had his arm partly sewn on and that doctors say will have a full recovery, is finished? Do you write anyone of with a disability as useless and finished?
Maybe I'm not fully up to speed with what modern medicine can repair but I'm sure almost having your hand cut clean off will leave some lasting damage. F1 is a mix of precise feel, stamina and mental awareness. Stamina can be brought back but nerve damage can not always be overcome. As for the mental side of things Kubica may or may not have some new fear, he will certainly be rusty anyway. Just because you can still drive does not mean you can still compete in F1, if he's lost even a little thats a lot in F1 terms. I don't think its unreasonable to assume that a major accident will cause at least minor lasting damage. As a side note I'm not quite sure how you got "Do you write anyone of with a disability as useless and finished?" from my post.
