They call you Dirty Leeds and Leeds Scum because the Leeds team and fans they remember were filth. Your average Spurs, Chelsea or United fan probably couldn't name you five current Leeds players they're so off the radar. There's really nothing wrong with being a mid-table second tier club at all. We were one for most of my life and will be again sooner or later, so no need for that massive chip on your shoulder as it's weighing you down.
I wouldn't deny Leeds support is huge but our support is larger than Spurs. Sky changed football (IMO for the worst) there's no doubt about that, but no point in taking it out on other clubs.
Exactly. H&F is the 2nd smallest London borough. Chelsea get a lot of support from other parts of London and the Home Counties but you still have to share with about 7 or 8 other clubs at least. It's different when you live in Newcastle or Leeds where there are no other clubs that surround you. You can't drive 5 miles in London without going into the vicinity of another London club. In West Yorkshire who else is there? In Newcastle who else is there? Us London clubs do well given the number of rivals we have for numbers. I'm damn near certain if there was only one club in each part of London i.e North - Spurs. East - West Ham. South - Palace. West - Fulham then each would be amongst the best supported both home and away. Liverpool and United have huge support but barely any of it is local and a lot is down to success/gloryhunting rather than geographical/family links. Liverpool and Manchester are massive City's but even they only have one other team to compete with for fans.
Good support for Northern UK clubs of course but in fairness what else is there to do? London I am afraid is now a country within a country .... It's different gear altogether it that good or bad no idea . The people are better in the north IMO apart from the Black Country where they are mainly newts
Well of course you would - two million people for each quadrant plus the nearby commuter towns outside their part of London would obviously give you a huge support. But even among the dozenish (?) pro clubs in the capital, there's still a huge number of people to draw support from. Leeds don't pull in good crowds based on the catchment area we've got (and I honestly believe we have the biggest one in the country), but there are reasons for that. Namely the club's failure to ever really connect with the City of Leeds and other places in Yorkshire, and taking the supporters for granted. Newcastle is an interesting example you mention because they do the exact opposite and encourage the supporters through the turnstiles, even in the darkest days of Mike Ashley and before. And by the way, even within the area you'd probably class as Newcastle's urban sprawl, there are areas where Sunderland are the most popular club. Leeds have fans all over Yorkshire, but Bradford, Huddersfield and Halifax all have decent backing in our immediate surrounds - as much as QPR, Fulham and Brentford do to Chelsea anyway. Which United? We've been talking about Newcastle and Leeds, but you also mention Manchester? Most confusing. I think Leeds and Chelsea both have comparable support to Liverpool and the scum. Not as well-backed locally as your Toon, Boro, Mackems, Burnleys, Blackburns etc. who all have a great footballing mentality in their local areas, but still got a strong core of local fans with a few hundred thousand spread across the country and a few million abroad as well.
The people in the Black Country are constantly recovering from being battered about the face with halibut by them cocky cockneys from the Smoke at fishing contests to worry about such things. "Job dodging" is hard work.
Also, you should be guillotined if you think the Black Country is 'up North'. MIDLANDS. Unless you're on about Bradford. Racial.
So super-supporter Iqbal......I presume that you're a season ticket holder at Elland Road, and have been to all matches home and away this season? And 10/11 and 09/10 and 08/09 and......? If you're that obsessed with being in a big crowd all the time why don't you go to either Manchester Utd or Manchester City? Two clubs with rather bigger real followings than Leeds, and not very far for you to travel....assuming of course that you've completed your homework and your Mum allows you out When are you relocating to Germany then?
I am a ST holder yes, although I'm giving that up at the end of the season as part of the wider boycott against Ken Bates. Been to about half the away games this season, so I'm not a super-supporter if such a thing exists, but I don't see how that means I don't have the right to criticize other clubs with high home attendances, but pitifully small and quiet away ones. Because I'm a Leeds fan. That's why I'm not changing my allegiance just for the sake of bigger numbers. I accept my club, even when not boycotting, should get higher crowds. No QPR or Fulham fan seems to be able to do the same. And I regret to inform you that I don't live with my parents. September/October next year. Thanks for the interest.

By all means criticise Iqbal. Criticise away old chum. But give your criticism some context. While your one-town club was away "living the dream" on money you were never gonna repay we weren't. I wonder how much of your fan-base was ignited by Risdale's dishonesty? How did he get away with it?
Loiner, QPR have always got relatively high away support in comparison to home e.g Fulham nowadays get 26k at home and around 250 for away games in League 1, we would get 12/13k at home and still often in the thousands away
