And you think Bates will re-invest? You think we can afford to lose our best player in order to buy a squad full of players worth £200,000? We have the core of a squad capable of promotion surrounded by mid-table level players, add a mid-season managerial overhaul and little room for rotation and mid-table is what you get.

There's only one or two strikers at this level who are consistently good. Becchio's got a decent scoring record this season - I'll bet you he's got a goal for every 180 minutes he's been on the pitch - and he can do the same next time round too. Warnock's said he's a "big Becchio fan", so he's obviously still doing well on the training pitch even if his performances haven't always been up to his usual standard this season.

After all, who else is Warnock gonna get them punting it long to, other than Big Bad Billy?!

Good to see I can still get responses from people, it's been pretty quiet on this forum of late, it needs conflict and more posts that make people react...:emoticon-0116-evilg

I'm sorry but have you listened to tonights game, there wasn't that much to choose between play off contenders Blackpool and "****e" Leeds United. The second half we dominated for a large part.

Your'e coming across as a fool tonight Boab, think I preferred it when you were letting us know about your sources.

    Jamie Mackie - £500,000
    Paddy Kenny - £750,000
    Bradley Orr - £500,000
    Adel Taarabt - £600,000
    Rob Hulse - £1,000,000
    Tommy Smith - £500,000

Total - £3,850,000, and a wage bill no doubt far higher than ours.

What's the point of selling Snodgrass when we already generate easily enough money to spend that much on transfers?

Once again, you deflect the pressure from Bates and onto the manager and players. Very odd.

Doubt any of those signings the Snodgrass fee would pay for would even be as good as him. No need whatsoever to sell such a decent player.

Blimey, There are some bargains in there... Taarabt for 1m

I'd prefer Lonners to a coked up fake Irishman from Halifax.

Bradley Orr only moved to Blackburn in January. Other two would be worth it.

Ellandback <doh> Why reply to a post when you can just edit it?! <laugh>

A coked up fake Irishman from Halifax who won't flap at easy shots and was QPR's Player of the Season.

Selling Snoddy will mean a significantly weaker team, and that money won't bring in the signings to make up that loss and further improve the team. Selling Snodgrass is extremely counter productive. No sale of any player in the last 5 years has resulted in a bigger wage budget. It's all just vanished into thin air.

There is not going to be any money going into the squad. There was none last year. Grayson cannot be blamed for the squad when he had his transfer targets and they all turned him down because the board wouldn't compete. He's come out and said it now, there's no two ways about it. The reason for this season being such a terrible disaster is the boards fault and nobody but the boards fault. It's official, the writing is on the wall, the evidence is there.

In 2011 QPR made an operating loss of £25.7M Compared to a loss of £15M in 2010 - Basically Warnock spent an extra £10M to get them promoted.
Saying that, Leeds are a much bigger club than millwall and deserve to be playing Premier League football. I've decided that I am going to leave the Millwall board, and join the Mighty White. Bye Showoff...

That's a very significant fact. Our wage bill only amounted to £9m at the start of this season, for goodness' sake, and Warnock spent that in one season alone to have to get his last promotion.

Doesn't bode well. Still, he's done alright without huge backing before, so there is still hope of making the playoffs and hoping he stays another year when we get knocked out of the semis.

during their Championship-winning season under Neil Warnock last year, QPR’s £29.7 million wage bill amounted to 183 per cent of their £16.2 million turnover

I think it's time for "bates out" to come back to Elland Road. All these teams he keeps harping on about not having spent much to go up, Norwich and Reading and Swansea, all of them spent more than us by at least a couple of million. Other clubs that have spent quite a bit and have overstretched themselves, they've overstretched themselves because they've spent an amount of money that their club can't afford, that does not mean it's an amount of money that LEEDS UNITED can't afford.

The constant berating of Grayson has gone too far, especially now Grayson has confirmed what we all suspected, that we didn't get our transfer targets because the club wouldn't compete on wages and transfer fees. Kaspars Gorkks and Jack Cork have both proven invaluable assets to their respective clubs, one of which confirmed promotion and the other of which is 5 points ahead of third with 2 games to play. These are players Simon Grayson wanted to get. Are you going to now tell me Grayson was **** at selecting players? I hope not. When the rumour about Jack Cork was flying around, everybody on this board was either extremely excited about it or sceptical about the accuracy of the rumour, I don't remember one person saying "he's not good enough". Kaspars Gorkks has been a mainstay in two automatic promotion winning teams in two seasons, that is one hell of an achievement for any player. Both QPR and Reading have gone up on the back of keeping a ridiculous number of clean sheets. Grayson selected these players, the board failed to back him sufficiently. Neither of these players will be earning the sort of money that any sensible person would consider ridiculous for even an average Championship side, let alone one with the turnover Leeds has, a turnover that dwarfs the competition.

The problem is the board. It is the board holding us back with their "players want more than they're worth" rubbish. The only thing they are doing is holding back the club. If they decided to compete in the transfer market, it wouldn't spell doom for Leeds United, it wouldn't result in debt. It would simply result in a Leeds United that wouldn't be phased at all when all the clubs around started to crash financially for spending similar amounts of money. We're far ahead of any club in the Championship, our turnover in 10-11 was higher than both Hull and Burnley, clubs that were getting £16 million in parachute payments. Without breaking a sweat, we had a higher turnover than two clubs on parachute payments. One of those clubs has been praised for its strategy of not spending outside its means. Burnley are a small club in comparison, and are spending more than us without breaking the bank.

The board HAS TO GO. Now. Before this club is turned into an average Championship club that just makes up the numbers.

What I mean, TC, is that at the moment, yes, we are a mid table Championship team that is just making up the numbers. But what I fear is that we will be turned into a mid table Championship CLUB that is just making up the numbers. They are threatening to turn one of the biggest clubs in the country into a tin pot club with no fans like the rest of the Championship.
