I'm sorry but do you know this for a fact or is this one of those ' paint everyone who doesn't support Wenger as plastic ' opinions? For all we know Mr 87 may only have been sporting Arsenal in the era you refer to because he has only just discovered football in that time. Indeed he may have been a supporter before that or even during the time that we have been trophyless. You don't know so what you've accused him of is nothing beyond mere speculation and in the manner by which you have made it, quite offensive and dismissive.
It is obviously supposition and although dismissive of his rant I do not mean offense. I stand corrected. However, I reckon I'm right.
Moderators here or at least the two remaining original moderators appear not to be able to separate the concept of moderation and that of being a fan. By all means be the latter, that is why you're here after all and not the board of some other team but to be a moderator, you need to be fair, consistent and know when to moderate without getting involved in a spat since when you do you are no longer moderating. You should manage a situation, not get caught up in it as is often the case.
In general, there's very little moderation we have to do on this board, especially compared to others. I don't accept the accusations that we close threads and delete comments on a whim. But we do when things start getting out of hand and people are just looking to cause a fight. I think what irks some people is that the mods actually have a view about Arsenal FC and are willing to defend it.
But I am not - I'm saying we have posters like you who will not let it go. As a MOD I suggest you show an example.? Then if it cools down, we might see others less aggressive? What you MODS cannot recognise is that there are many of us who feel victimised for our views. It feels like bullying - thats the truth. MODs using PM to threaten is not on. This is in public to appeal to all posters to drop the lengthy diatribes. Some will never drop it and keep going. somebody has to turn the other cheek.
Your guarantee is wrong as I was supporting Arsenal before any Wenger era success, but thanks for showing yourself to be a pompous a$$. And just for the record, when i started supporting Arsenal it was Manunited who were the team to support as they were the ones winning everything. What made me start supporting Arsenal is when I switched on the TV one day when I was a kid, and I saw this team playing some nice football, but what I really liked was the stadium, I had never seen a stadium that looked something like that (Highbury), and from right that second, I said this will be my team. And if I indeed just joined Arsenal when they were winning things, that makes me a glory hunter, and surely I wouldn't have stuck with Arsenal for the past 7 trophyless seasons eh? Nor would I have accepted the offer of becoming a season ticket holder at the start of this season after the dreadful end we had to the last. You see, people like you, talk utter nonsense, and i attribute this to older man age arrogant syndrome, you think just because you are older, and supported Arsenal in the 80's (OH BACK IN MY DAY, we hear this from pundits too 24-7 like that makes them special, yeah BACK IN YOUR DAY it was much easier to go games, for much cheaper prices, it's actually much harder to support a team these days THAN BACK IN MY DAYYYY) that your somehow more of a better fan and think you really know it all about the younger generation and why they support Arsenal etc when you don't really know much at all.

Sensitive soul aren't you? However it does raise a very valid point. No-one should feel bullied on here. If you dislike the banter or worse, then that is when posts should be reported to the mods and action should and I would would be taken. If no action is taken by the mod, or the complaint is against a mod, then raise it with a different mod.
Agree I would contest that the accusations made about mods 'having the last word' and 'vicitimising' others is equally applicable to those who are making those claims. It actually has very little to do with moderation as to what views about Arsenal we hold and the debates we have with others on this board. As I said, I think what irks some people is that the mods are actually fans, with a opinions about our club and are willing to defend our views. If anyone has a problem with our moderation, then please take that to one of the super mods. I have absolutely no problem with that at all.

Sorry mate, but you've had nothing 'hurled back' at you. You either want a board where everyone is free to express their opinion or not. It doesn't apply to some and not others.
I have an idea - why don't we consign whatever has happened (on both sides) to the past and draw a line under it. All we really have to do then is not be personally abusive, or snide (with comments like 'plastic fan', 'rose tinted specs', etc..). There's too much importance being placed on who's right or wrong (both sides again), and really no one gives a flying ****. The whole game is about opinions.

I agree with that We're all entitled to our opinions, that includes mods too. This is a forum after all, so there's no need to take it personally when we differ with our opinions.
