Theres lots of speculation about a striker we may buy, however there is one who kind of fits target man criteria, who is also pacey and can have a shot

Not to say i'd be overly happy with him but is there a small chance, especially as he's a free agent, that we could sign Hugo Rodellga?

Think O'Neill would consider it, if free and on low wages, I admit i would too, when I went to watch Wigan v SAFC, he was unlucky a couple of times tbf

    In those circumstances yes.........

But we would still need at least one more.

Considering how bad we are up top we should be looking at bringing in 2 maybe 3 strikers. I rate Roddellega but i think he's gone stale at wigan and a move will be good for home. Id definitely have him on a free.

    Steven Fletcher 6m
    Yakubu 1-2m
    Rodellega free
    + Campbell

Not breathtaking to look at but strikers who are capable of getting 10-15 league goals in a year.

He missed a sitter last night, but for free could be worth a punt!

He was decent under Bruce. What he really needs is a short loan in the championship where he would get a goal a week. He's lacking confidence

When you compare the above to Bent, Welbeck and Gyan its just not good enough.

People talk about moving forward and replacing players with better players. We need to sign a player of Bent or Gyans stature. We have plenty of average EPL strikers at the moment in Bendtner, Wickham, Ji. If we are to improve we need a 15-20 goal a season man.

Think Gyan is over rated especially as a goal scorer. I think Fletcher could be a 15 goal a season man in a better team. Yakubu has 16 league goals this year for 2nd worst team in the league, ill be surprised if welbeck ever gets that even for man utd. These are options that would improve us. Id be all for spanking 15m on a 1 in 2 goals per game strikers but is that realistic for us atm?

How many different players have scored 20+ in the prem in the past 5 year?

I think that Fletcher would be a great buy for us, we haven't had a proper centre forward for years.

Fletcher is absolutely textbook perfect for us, I don't care if his names not glamour and he plays for Wolves.

He'd have added 18 minimum to our goals tally this season, i'm certain of it.

I rate Fletcher, he stays central, busts his ball to get in the bax is very good on the air and a decent finisher. I would much rather see him than Rodellega who I don't really, he seems to have gone right off the boil but if he was free then why not, he might find his form (which was very good for a while) with a move.

Rodellega definitely has something, he's a player I've often thought was worth a look in the past, but has had an awful season.

He's free, so worth the punt, I used to say he'd score goals in a better team, but Wigan create hatfuls of chances!

I'd like to see Fletcher/Doyle along with Moses, hard working players who would fit nicely into our team.

MoN has 20m plus worth of strikers you's future he will have to decide first, before thinking of replacements...........

Sad reality is that so would Demba Ba and Bruce refused to sign him after his failed medical at Stoke!!

With our worrying injury record under Bruce, Ba would probably have missed this whole season with knee ligament damage.

Going back to Rodellega, he's had a bad season but i don't think his head or heart is in wigan anymore after he was linked with several la liga clubs in the summer. Before this season he has bagged 8 and 9 goals in the two previous seasons. Bar Bents 20+ season, our highest scoring forward in recent prem years in Jones/Gyan with 10. This season we have 3 players on 7 goals.

Rodellega on a free could be a master stroke.

I would love Fletcher. He is always a threat. Especially against us. Yes from me for him.
