Serious question, not here for an argument. I am trying to guage how fans of other top 10 teams rate Alex Song. Would you swap Tiote for Song if given the chance ?

No, personally think Tiote is a better player, though Song has been playing better than I would have expected recently.

No. I do rate Song very highly though. He had a sticky patch this season where he looked like he regressed, but I think it was more down to the situ at Arsenal at the time and a lack of confidence. He looks back to his best. I just feel Tiote is something else and I'll hate the day he leaves. He controls games single handedly at times.

Definately not! Even during Tiotes bad games he will always put in 110% to chase down every ball!

I'd take him to play along side Tiote, but never in a million years would I swap <ok>

This is exactly what I would have thought. I'm having an argument, I don't rate Song at all, far too clumsy, slow and basic for my liking. A suggestion was made that he would walk into any top club bar City - so I posted this on pretty much all the top 10 clubs to see who would swap their CMs with Song. Chelsea fans would swap Essien and Mereiles for him ...

Can I ask question for the OP here, have you wrote the same question on every teams board about whoever their holding midfielder is whether it be Tiote here, Cattermole at Sunderland or someone else at another club.

Two quite different players tbh. For the job Tiote does I can't think of anyone else in the Premier I'd rather have.

Creatively, Song is better, but as a defensive/holding mid, Tiote is better.

This, Song is different to Tiote and to answer the question I wouldn't swap Tiote. There's not many in the world I'd swap him for to be honest

Essien is the only player that does Tiote's job better than him, but Essien is in and out of the team, and is 30 years old.

I wouldn't swap him for Tiote as he's only better when on form, and he's not been in form since his injury.

Yeah thats exactly what I did.

Chelsea fans would swap Merelies and Essien for him, Liverpool wouldn't swap Lucas, Man U wouldn't swap Carrick. got a few more boards to check.

Essien is no longer capable of putting in that type of shift, those days are well past Essien unfortunately and it's probably to do with his injury. At one point he was my favourite non-United player because he was a total beast but injuries have pretty much ruined his game. I suspect Essien will be playing his football on the continent in a slower league next summer.

On the subject of a Chelsea fan swapping Meireles for Song, I'm not surprised, if I was a Chelsea fan I'd happily swap Meireles for near enough any other midfielder in the Premier League. What a shocking, pathetic player on every single level that man is. I'd put him on the superflop shelf with Per Mertesacker. I've never seen somebody so out of their depth in this league as Meireles, Liverpool must be laughing their way to the bank with that cheque. Ok he can hit a decent strike once in a while but so can half of the players in League 2.

I do agree that Song is more creative, although Tiote isnt short of a great pass or two. To put it bluntly though, I dont fear us playing against Song, but I would dread the day we come up against Tiote. Obviously hopeful this never happens.

Tiote is still a good passer of the ball. But he's just not the type that will slot players through on goal.
