Fryatt's far from a brilliant player, but if we lose him and Koren we'll be dead and buried by Christmas. Hobbs is out for at least the first month or two of next season too, then consider if we lose Stewart and Chester to Leicester... Will we be relying on Leadfoot Evans for goals?
I was thinking of starting a thread on this: what is King's best position? He's only played on the wing for us, but from what I've seen he doesn't seem like a player who wants to hug the line like Brady but he prefers to run directly into the box and get on the end of crosses. Does anyone think we could use him as a striker?
I will sit on fence and suggest NB decides based on Fryatt'sanswer & demeanor in respect of selling his house and travelling in conjunction with club rules. I dont think commuting players perform as well as they could.
We need to find another good striker, in fact probably 2 not sell one. He's the only proven one we have but Josh King could get a few next season. Mclean & Cullen not good enough, Simpson AWOL, Adebola dispatched and quite rightly.. don't anyone dare suggest the famous Phil Brown line "Garcia is a striker".. erm no he isn't. Fryatt & King are the only ones I'd keep.
Read between the lines! In future, now I know you are reading, I shall attempt to write more in a Janet and John style.
Sorry has this forum gone insane since I went away for a week?... Sell fryatt?! NO CHANCE! Keep him at all costs; he's a bloody good goalscorer and will be continuing to do so for the foreseeable future I hope!
I don't remember brown ever playing Garcia as a striker, that was Pearson who played him as a striker all the time
First of all keep Fryatt unless he wants to leave.!!! IMO, with Hobbs out for the first part of next season I would like to go with a 3 - 5 - 2 formation. This way NB can keep his 5 in midfield but also give Fryatt the support he needs up top. Say a Fryatt / Henderson pairing as an example. With 3 solid centre backs and 2 good wing backs all avenues are covered. So for example purposes this would do for me Mannone Chester Gerrard Cooper Rosinoir Evans McKenna Dawson Koren Fryatt Henderson I also expect Joe Dudgeon to take over from Dawson at left back as the season goes along. I think playing wing backs works fine with McKenna and Evans covering the backline.
Brownie regularly played Garcia as a lone striker and though it was obviously not the right role for him, he just kept insisting that Garcia was actually a striker. Ditto ***an.
Garcia actually calls himself a striker, and whilst it didn't work there in the PL I thought he did a good job of it under the circumstances last year under NP before Fryatt and McLean were signed. I remember at Preston away he was great up front. Not saying I think PB was right (especially when JVoH and Altidore were on the bench) but he wasn't the only one with that idea.
Took me ages to realise my mistake there even after you pointed it out, it was meant to be JVoH and Altidore
I agree in that Fryatt should be kept unless we get a decent offer for him. If a Midlands club came in for him with a decent offer i dont think Nick would stand in his way.
why on earth would we want to get rid. http://actim.pressassociation.com/ one of the best strikers in the league.
Maybe Wolves as the vultures are hovering and they shall be raped in the summer of there best players anyway. I would agree as Nick could replace Fryatt with a quality Free Transfer and use the fee to cover players wages. I dont think there is anything in it at all for one moment, but i was told at Watford that CMS wants out from Brighton and Mclean wants him here. Now that would blow ya socks off. Talk of Poyet leaving in the summer for a PL gig.
Wolverhampton will have some cash to spend as they sell off all there best players. Thats my guess. Wolves could well go with Ewbanks-Blake and Fryatt up top with Hammill and Kightly on the flanks. Not bad for the championship as an example.
Erm....I've never met any of our players dads, I thought that was your job, you've mentioned it enough...
