I disagree. Bolton and Stoke players aren't intentionally trying to break the leg of a player that had spent 2 years in the medical room because of a break on the aforementioned leg.
well lads it's official, Ronnie left the best supported club in Europe, United of course !!! Article in the Independent reveals United top of best supported clubs in Europe with an average attendance of over 75,000. Second where Dortmund, third Barca, fourth Bayern and fifth Ronnie's Real Madrid. Can't understand why it's not the main headlines on the BBC sports pages, of forgot it's United and not some poxy story like Lucas loves Doglead !!!! I know it means more money in the coffers for the Glazers but it also shows just how brilliant is Fergie ?
I did give a reason why I think it could legitimately be used. You're equating racial suppression and genocide with the Munich Disaster. In exactly the way those fools in my picture equated Munich and 9/11. You're proving my point that your fans blow things out of all proportion when Munich comes into the picture. Nope. Like I said, the obsessive reaction to it, and in fact the inconsistent, some would say disgraceful actions of MUFC towards the disaster. I don't believe that at all. Even at the Man U vs Leeds FA Cup game at Old Trafford, no Munich chants were heard. They're dated, people have moved on from taunts about the death. If we're chucking muck about this sort of thing, your lot are just as bad for Istanbul taunts. The only way things stop being sensitive issues is through discussion. Reminds me of a certain Roy Keane.
But that's not why most people use it though. Are you saying that the average Leeds/Scouse/City scumbag is regularly having to put up with the romanticising of the Munich disaster these days? We do a minute's silence once a year, and when there's a major anniversary (40 years, 50 years for example) there will be media coverage. Not exactly unbearable for you is it? The reason most of you ****ers chant Munich is just to offend, it's certainly not a defence mechanism against over-exposure of the disaster as you pathetically suggest. In suggesting otherwise you are being more of a tosser than usual. It's a disaster which cost innocent people their lives. The scale may be completely different. The response of scum like you is equally the same. You are mocking the dead, whether there are 23, 5000 or 6 million fatalities, it is still the same. Appalling acts are appalling whatever the scale. It's no different to the reaction to Hillsborough. Do you have a big problem with that? No of course you don't, because you don't search for any excuse to hate Liverpool. So why do scrotes like you still mention Munich? And don't bother whining on about your 'legitimate' reason, we all know it's bullshit. You just use that as an excuse because you are educated enough to know that what you say is unacceptable (unlike the majority of your fanbase), so you have to find justification. As for Istanbul taunts, I thought you weren't in favour of 'blowing things out of proportion'. Because to compare the stabbing of 2 people in a brawl to the death of nearly 2 dozen wholly blameless people is certainly doing that. Kindly take your discussion somewhere else. You're not welcome here by the majority. Most people don't stay where they're blatantly unwelcome - unless they have poor social skills or a mental illness of some kind. That was the worst thing Keane ever did and it was indefensible. It could have been worse though, he could have carried out a racist attack in public with a couple of team mates.
I can only speak for myself. Anyway, like I've said, Munich rarely gets sung any more and even when it is, people generally ignore it or say 'shhhhh'. You're ignoring what I've said. I don't mind an annual remembrance but it's the obsession with it outside of that. Like I said, the 9/11 thing, the sympathy the club used at the time to secure a generation of faux grief-stricken glory supporters, as well as the club's reaction which included paying Cantona off with money that should have gone to the families. Never mocked those that died in Munich. The scale is completely different and that's why it's such an obscene, laughable comparison which deserves the label 'Munichs', as it shows the true extent of the delusion. Yes I do, I think they too overreact and fail to take responsibility for their own crimes. I have perfectly legitimate reasons to hate Liverpool fans, I would have thought you did too to be honest. No evidence given, so I'll ignore. No evidence given, just speculation and attempted ad hominems, I'll ignore. They were killed in cold blood, there was no "brawl" about it. I suggest you check out your facts. Blowing things out of proportion? No. I'm just trying to check if your argument is consistent, which it is not. Leeds fans don't sing Munich any more, the few that do are no different to the few that sing Turkey chants in your stands. Neither of us can take the moral high ground or the moral low ground. Do I look like I give a **** about "the majority"? Poor social skills and mental illness, yep, that's me in a nutshell. I'll discuss what I want, where I want, without inhibition. I'm a Yorkshireman after all. Hence why I have disowned Woodgate and Bowyer. I think they're thugs and traitors, do you think the same about 'Keano'?
But you use the Munich Air Disaster in order to get a rise out of United fans on football forums. You ignored what I said anyway, you implied that you only mentioned Munich because you were provoked by too much Munich exposure. And that doesn't really happen does it? Obsession? Give me an example. The sympathy at the time? Were you around then? Old enough to be annoyed by it? Didn't think so. Again, that's not why you call us Munichs is it? You do it to offend. To suggest otherwise is frankly laughable. So I presume you'll have posts on here where you use Hillsborough as a stick to beat scousers with. Post me a link? No? Didn't think so. I don't hate Liverpool fans, I dislike their team and some of their support, but "hate" is a bit strong. Well done to you though for hating people you've never met According to news reports they were killed in "clashes". Anything else is conjecture. Unless you were there? I bet you're really popular aren't you? I think you're just a **** Did you disown them at the time? Didn't think so. Why would I think Keane was a traitor? He was sacked, he didn't leave of his own accord If you say so
Nope. I should know, I'm me. Yep. And I said why. This is getting circular. Nope but the legacy's still there. I gave you an example, the 9/11 flag. The AIG-Sponsored mural, the Munich Tunnel, the club's reaction. All reasons I dislike the Munich Disaster's legacy. I'm suggesting otherwise, laugh it up. No, I've never had cause to post on the Liverpool forums on here. I don't have to have said something on not606 for it to be a belief of mine, Christ. Why shouldn't I hate Liverpool? They got English clubs banned from European football and single-handedly ****ed up football supporter culture in this country by their disgraceful ticketless hoards' crush at Hillsborough. Or at least for provoking the Taylor Report which forced that sanitization. Yep, clashes which followed an ambush on Leeds fans leaving the square where they had been drinking. Clashes of self-defence as innocent Leeds fans tried to fight knife-wielding Galatasaray scumbags. Read any account of the events and you'll discover Loftus and Speight were killed in cold blood. Even if they weren't, which they were, I don't see why you're arguing this point - it doesn't make a difference. Think what you want, I'm sure you're a perfect human being. Yes, as did many other Leeds fans. I see what you did there. Expecting my answer, very clever. Except it completely backfired and made you look like quite the silly billy. Very well then, just 'thug'. Do you think Roy Keane was a thug and have you disowned him? Just imitating our friend Munster whose enlightening contributions to this debate have really provided a cutting edge to the discourse.
The 9/11 flag was done by the Yanks who are famous for overdoing stuff like this. They made two films about 9/11 for Christ's sake. Hardly representative of United fans as a whole. The mural was to mark the 50th anniversary. The same year that the disaster was commemorated by the city of Munich and the England football team. Or are you going to be pissed off about them as well? The tunnel was also named to mark the 50th anniversary The club's reaction to the disaster happened over 50 years ago. Is that what you're really pissed off about? The fact the media made us into the darlings of England half a century ago and the club handled it badly at the time? Ultimately, the club and the vast majority of its fans remember the people who died and respect their memories. We don't walk around claiming people should love us because of what happened or that we somehow deserve greater sympathy as a result of it. But we do object strongly to the fans of a great many other clubs, including Leeds, making up chants and taunts to dishonour their memory, and using it as a slur or insult against us.
Well I'm not sure what all this bitterness and bile has to do with the fact that Fergie is brilliant ?
Just found out I've missed out on semi final tickets and it was my own fault - gutted !!!!!! I'm out of the UK at the moment and forgot to apply on line before the Friday deadline ! Been to all 8 home cup games this season ( Carling , F A & Champs league ) so would have probably been guaranteed 4 tickets., my son is not going to be a happy chappy when he finds out ! Don't suppose any of you guys have any spare ?
Liverpool have spent more than united since the premierleague started when you look at players bought and sold, they have spent more and have won **** all
Rather you than me. I'm glad I'm not hate-filled, what a waste of time and emotion. Anyway, we'll have to agree to disagree. I think it's out of order to reference a tragedy to offend others, you think it's ok. I may not be perfect, but I'm nowhere near as much of **** you are.
If I have offended you (which obviously I haven't, but I'll humour you like I do with my kids), then you deserve it. I didn't say there was anything wrong with offending people per se, but that offending people by mentioning a tragedy is wrong. I hope that's clearer. Don't worry, I've got plenty of patience so I can help you with difficult concepts
Hope he,s still around when Q P R (if promoted) repeat our great result at OT in 1992!Great to see fans with passion still around!Good luck for the rest of season. The double is on UTD Prem champs,QPR champ champs!
