shame for Parker, wish him all the best. Will be interesting to see his point of view once he has left the club as to what is actually going on behind doors. His card was marked the moment he spoke up in Billys bar, although his constant injurys would have probably been enough to force him out. As for Varynen, no loss as he didnt actually get much game time & looked nothing special when he did. Think he was on crutches most of the time as well!
Parker always to me looked like he was going to be a really good LB, injuries just ruined the guy and he never properly returned. No suprise to see either go though
I had high hopes for Vayrynen, he was that special he didn't even have a club by the time we signed him in September. Thanks to Bates' sensible business approach we haven't overpaid for the player as Vayrynen and his agent will have just been glad to find employment.
He actually signed for Red Bull Salzburg and was flying over to complete the deal when he heard Leeds were interested and cancelled that to come join here instead. I guess he made a mistake...
Well if that's the case i'm just glad we got our man. Yes Red Bull may have pushed the price up, but he arrived that late the months we saved on paying another midfielder make it all worth it.
Glad to see those two off the books. Our squad is probably stronger without them even without signing replacements. Now for the job of clearing at least ten more pieces of dead wood from the good ship Leeds United
Never understood how the Penguin Runner became a footballer. Now fully expect him to drip a division or two and, in 5 years, be part of some Championship winning team to reach the Prem way before LUFC do, like many of our previous woeful full backs we have discarded. eg Crainey, Richardson, Harte Other noticeable full backs that have gone on to do better elsewhere: Bravo, Harding Any more for any more?
