Is this Taarabt thing really all so black or white for you guys? He's certainly no Marsh, Bowles, Currie or Wegerlie but even though he's been firing blanks this season, the team's got a lot more fizz about it when he's around - or am I missing something?
It was more how he started Brix. By his own admission he didn't want to be here - "my head was in Paris" - his words right? So while we were carrying an uninterested, overweight player - a player around whom the entire team was built -we were dropping points we could ill afford to. Can't argue with that at all Telf. Done my head in last summer when as our mollycoddled skipper he's trying to get Arsenal's attention and started talking about Toon as a stepping stone before PSG showed interest. He was too good for us and all that... Fact remains though, since Hughes has come in, he's done us a job being our only creative mid. No denying his presence gives us a bit of hope and we really need a replacement before we condemn him out of sight. Ben Arfa or even Moses anyone?! Thank God for small mercies I s'pose.
