Is it the reason why the EPL is the most watched and loved league in the world, or a major reason why English clubs are not dominant in Europe any longer?

Whatever the reason, the fact that relegation favourites 5 or 6 weeks ago have gone to Anfield and the Emirates and won; played the Champions elect and won; were totally robbed at the Bridge and have clawed their way up to 16th. Top English clubs can be beaten by the bottom clubs which virtually never happens in the Italian, Spanish, German or Portuguese Leagues.

14 points from the last 24 available and wins at Anfield, The Emirates and a win against the champions elect. With their last 8 games against Swansea, Norwich, WBA, Stoke, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea, even the most blinkered Latic would have hoped for no more than 7 or 8 points maximum. To get 14 and scramble out of the bottom 3 is brilliant. To be fair to them, they were only totally robbed at Chelsea by a cows twat of a referee and not because they were out-played or out fought.

Out of all the relegation candidates involved in the campaign this season, Wigan have shown the most fight, skill and spirit and Martinez has remained unbelievably chirpy and confident and that has paid dividends at this late stage.

I really, really hope they stay up now, as I love this kind of spirit at clubs whatever their size and status.

Villa fans are as deluded as the mags and really do think they are this massive club when in reality they are **** all.

I'd piss myslef if they went down after all their fans came on our site when Judas went there and said he had moved to a bigger club. Bigger relegation candidates maybe that all. Lol

On another point, Arsehole ****er was his usual twatful self after the game, moaning and scratching around for excuses and not really giving Wigan any credit. He really is a ****er of the highest order.

At least SAF was magnanimous after defeat and conceded Wigan were the better team.

Wouldn't mind Wigan staying up. Cheap away day, always give us around 5k and not too far to travel.

Really like MArtinez, he's done a magnificent job with the resources he has. Just hope we turn up on Saturda and really put Villa in the relegation mix.

Be ****ing excellent to put them in the mire, and i don't believe we'll have 3 weak shows in a row.

Away win, and to save the cost of a fax, may as well put the bid in for Albrighton & Collins on the way out ;)

Buggered up my chances on the prediction game mind. Naughty step beckons once more.

Helluva good performance from them though. Especially as they got the goals early on.

I'm sure MON's gonna have the players up for it. MAybe throw a few fringe players in who reaaly are playing for their futures at the club too.

We're 11/5 on 365. Think a punt is on the cards!

    Deffo mate.

They looked lost v United, the young lads didn't keep the ball, Lichaj looked canny, but the rest were lost.

An early goal and they will fold like a wet hanky, even a good spell of early pressure as their fans are ****e, be straight on their backs.

Us to win and Both teams to score in Fulham v Wigan is 4.17/1. Think that's the bet for me!

PSG let me down for £248 last night, they conceded in the 87th minute, really should have covered!

I want to know why clubs like Wigan do **** all for the first 30games of the season then when it comes to the crunch they can turn in performances like tonight and the last couple of games beforehand

Like the manager, like the way they play. There attendances are appalling though.

I would hate to play Wigan in the last few months of any season, year after year they are gone in January then, off they go, win after win.

Another Houdini season for Wigan, they're certainly not boring, but I would be frustrated if I were a Wigan fan. Apart from their obvious potential, they seem very adept at sourcing great value players who they feed to other clubs.

All they need imo is a finisher and a strong cb, they were easily the better team when we played them down their and were very unlucky

    Creativity wise, there very good
