Apparently bad news reported on twitter. Arteta was on crutches and in a protective boot. :(

  2. Yes we can afford to lose 1 more of:

    Chelsea (H)
    Stoke (A)
    Norwich (H)
    WBA (A)

Anything other than 9 points and we'll be relying on other teams losing points.

2 wins and a draw from the last 4 would give us 71 points. That might be good enough but we'd need Spurs to take a max of 12 from 15 and Newcastle a max of 12 from 15 and Chelsea a max of 14 from 15

Dam, that's what you call quick service! Pretty much no hope for the next game for certain then. Hopefully he's not out for the rest of the season.

Newcastle worry me more then Spurs. They have won 1 in 8 and have not won a single away game in 2012.

  6. Hopefully he will be so down he wont turn up to the ground for the next 4 games - we'd have a better chance then <ok>

Great, we're stuck with ramsey then. I'm making an early prediction, Chelsea to win 3-1.

I would play Chamberlain in midfield alongside Rosicky and Song as a holding player. Keep Coq on the bench if he is fit.

We still have a 5 point lead (albeit) with game in hand
We beat Chelsea and they can virtually give up on catching us
We would need to win our remaining games but it is highly achievable
Newcastle fans are worried about their run in so we can assume they will drop points
    And Spurs well...they are Spurs

  10. The problem is there is a reasonable chance one of Chelsea, Spurs or Newcastle win all their remaining games. If even one does we actually need 3 wins and a draw to tie on points (Newcastle / Spurs) or 2 wins and 2 draws to tie with Chelsea.

To be honest Spurs are not out of it at all. Once again we've given them, and Chelsea and Newcastle a massive boost.

Unfortunately it looks like we're choking on the pressure - 2 wins and 2 losses in the last 4 - and they will be sensing it.

Ramsey came on when we were two down and chasing the game. Wigan are one of the form teams, and they packed the defence as expected after going two up. Not helped, by Song who decided to have one of his worst games of the season.

Haha, your hating on Aaron Ramsey does make me laugh...mainly 'cause I agree with it. He may be one for the future, but for now, the further away from our first team he is the better. I'm not looking forward to the Chelsea game.

I cant say I'm sorry about the result tonight chaps, because although I'm Chelsea fan, Martinez has been a great example of how football managers ought to behave and I have prayed for him to remain in the PL! As so it happened! Anyway the result will have no bearing on your guaranteed 3rd place spot and well done for that! Hope we can join you in the scrap next year!

  16. Well his version of chasing it is passing the ball backwards, slowing the game down and giving it away then.

Agree on Song - he was just so bad tonight its hard to understand.

Also see, no mention of Walcott today. He was utter rubbish and nearly every touch was awful.

The problem is a lack of quality depth. Song and Ramsey can be poor, because they know they'll feature next game regardless of their performances.

It's incredible how important Arteta is right now. Can't see anyone replacing him. Whatever team we put out, I can't see us winning. The best bet might be to put Song in front of Coquelin, and hope Song's passing is better than today. Otherwise we could try putting Benayoun in Arteta's role and hope he doesn't get too out-muscled. Up against Mikel and Lampard I'd rather have Song in there.

Like I said, they packed the defence and it was not easy to pick a pass through them, especially with their 5-4-1 system. Ramsey, as it is is not in good form. But the likes of Sagna,Song and Walcott had abysmal games.
