Very good point - it's a hell of a lot easier to take a dodgy decision if you've been gubbed 5-1 rather than lost 2-1 to a last minute penalty.

Just read on Twitter that the quote Alex Thomson gave was from a fake Leggo account. If true, what a fud
A fake Leggo account is claiming responsibility. That surely wont be where the original threat came from.
The quote he read was from the fake leggo account - he's made a total arse of himself with that (at the very least) http://twitter.com/#!/jdcgow/status/191958151581540352/photo/1/large
Well as his "proof" appears to consist of a tweet from a very obviously fake twitter account, I'll not be jumping to any conclusions as regards the truth of his claim of being threatened with assault until he comes up with something a bit more substantial
Interesting to hear that the person(s) who threatened him will soon be named. I can't wait to find out, it's like Xmas come early. As for Keevins and Hanna basically saying "Campbell Ogilvie is a decent and honest man and i'm sure he will be exonerated", well, that just about sums up everything Alex Thomson has said about our parochial hacks. A disgrace.
Yeah the fake leggo claims he was the one who threatened him but the account's gone. Were still none the wiser who threatened him, pretty silly reading out that statement though.
That's what he said. Unfortunately for him, his "proof" of this was a tweet from Fake Leggo. I'm hoping, for his sake, he has better evidence than that
I'm sure Leggo would be a "remarkable" defence witness. Imagine him in court with Findlay as his brief? I'd queue to see that case in court.
well just listened to the show again he says the journalist who threatened him was the one from twitter. Now is he saying that leggo threatened him and also leggo threatened him on twitter? Or are they both the same incident, im not sure.
Well Leggo has never mention being accused of it on any of his blogs (and i've read them all) so if someone was using a fake Twitter account in Leggo's name and that was the source of the threats i'm pretty sure: A; Leggo would have mentioned it B: Then denied it C: Alec Thomson does not strike me as the sort of guy who would run to the Coppers because some old drunk threatened him through Twitter. (I may be wrong) I personally think (I hope) he was threatened by someone Like Traynor.
I don't much care whether or by whom he was threatened. The thing is he was making a decent job of highlighting the sorry state of sports journalism in scotland, and this 'threat' claim has distracted people from the far more important issues. Thomson was the one questioning why reporters didn't do basic research on Craig Whyte ("just google him"). Well maybe he should check whether a "threatening tweet" comes from a genuine twitter account before broadcasting it on live radio?
