Totally agree and its what i keep banging on about when other clubs knock our home support. We are a proper club with proper fans, not the biggest club but a proper one. I remember the old days in League one when we could take 1000-2000 away which was better then some of the Prem clubs. Even when we were in that division we could be proud of away support and some of these 'so called' bigger clubs would not get the same commitment from their fans.
Agree. Even in the early 80s when we get our lowest home crowds we still had legendary away followings.
I thought QPR's fans at Elland Road were dreadful last season, but the numbers were OK in the circumstances. Brentford probably take more up North than Fulham, it's shameful.
Agree Chelsea's old school away support was good. Agree a couple of times at ER our support wasn't as good as usual. Cannot understand why but last year i remember the snow and thought 'no way'.
The match last year was in doubt for most of that week, the temperature was -5C so travel was difficult as well.
2-1 Liverpool!!!!!!!!!! John Terry on his arse again and he says something after in the slow motion replay. I hope it was not a racist comment.
Hugh Grant must have been busy with the phone hacking enquiry or else I'm sure he would have been there standing shoulder to.... well standing at the Stadium of ****e.
Its pathetic away support like this which has led to the club moving the away fans up to the concourse and having sunderland fans around the whole pitch. Many fans will have to be relocated from seats that have been theirs for years and im sure the banter in between home and away fans wont be as good, but it looks awful on TV when the south stand is empty (see photo above.....) and its only to our advantage to have safc fans all around the pitch. I prefer the layout as it is because when the away ends full its a great atmosphere
Here's your turn out at Sunderland http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=qp...sp=22&ved=1t:429,r:17,s:18,i:146&tx=80&ty=100 Who's laughing now.
We didn't bring a lot but we still brought 1500, which is about 1400 more than you that picture is taken at the end of the game and there are posts on Sunderland boards saying mass exodus after the 3rd goal, which is sad but true.
Both Fulham and QPR took embarrassing numbers to Sunderland and sat there doing bugger all judging by the pictures. I find this amusing, seeing as you're both top flight clubs and supposedly part of the Premier League product that's beamed so arrogantly around the world as the shining standard all football clubs should look to. Hope QPR stay up for the sole reason that I won't again have to witness the pitiful following you took to Elland Road last time when we roundly smashed you. Even if you did take 1,500, that's less than Leicester and Hull are taking to equivalent distances this season.
**** off loiner that picture is at the end of the game our away support is alright, not great by any standards but not terrible either, we tend to always take in the 1000's which is better than some (fulham) Fulham took 200 to Old Trafford
