I had the pleasure of going to the Cardiff away game, which, in terms of atmosphere was absolutely amazing and from this game it became clear that we are not even close to forgiving Malky or indeed Cowie. Cardiff are currently in 6th place 2 points above Boro, and it got me thinking with Watfords season over would we prefer a loss against Boro which could mean that they get a play off place instead of Cardiff?
Absolutely not. Can't imagine wanting my own team to lose and it's high time folk got over MM...he's history as far as WFC are concerned.
If we were away from home and it wasn't the last game I might be open to the idea, but not on the last home game.
goldenboy1993 we want our team to win. Now we have played against Cardiff City twice and been better twice it does not matter. If MM returns to take Stephen McGinn after all the club has done to get him fit again and Ross Wilson then I would change my mind.
I would not complain if we did loose and prevented Cardiff getting in the playoffs. But i would not want us to throw a match or go into it with that game plan. I want us to win every single game!!
Not under any circumstances ! The last game of the season is about finishing on a high and sending the fans away happy. You may as well raise the same question about Brighton tomorrow night, they are also capable of taking Cardiff's place - would you want to lose against them as well ?
I was actually thinking about that one on saturday evening after the cardiff game, and for me personally I would say yes ! then at the end of the season the slate is wiped clean ,similar really to what happened with Rodgers! petty I know ,but he did try to rip the heart from the club and that aint easy to forgive.
Thankfully we have a manager who wants us to win every game and wont settle/accept players slacking off.
This has got me asking the question of whether I would accept defeat happily in any circumstances. The answer to that is probably yes - If we were either safe, or already promoted, and Kenny Jackett's Millwall needed a point or 3 from us in order to stay up, but that is the only circumstance, and only for Kenny's sake. As for Malky, I would not give him the satisfaction of knowing that he can still influence us in any way.
I think this is a question best left after this weekends matches. I spoke to my AD who's a Boro fan about this very scenario, and he thinks that with them being at home to Donny tomorrow night who have nothing to lose, and the Saints on Saturday, that they're not going to reach the play-offs anyway.
Fairweather fan if ever there was one! He expects to lose to Donny? I fully expect them to get six points from their final three games, but they ain't going to beat us! Whether those six points will be enough though is open to conjecture - Carduff do have an easier run in.
Don't Carduff have a habit of making the play offs, then failing. I see no reason to expect them to do differently this season, so I will take the points thank you.
No way, I never would want us to loose. As OFH states, Cardiff are serial play-off bottlers and I would rather see them lose in the play-off final. Would be a good future pub-quiz question as well...
It's more of a case that with the run they're on, he thinks it'll probably be a draw which makes things harder for them if they don't win the game that should be a banker.
That's a good question and really should be a no brainer, but i really don't want Cardiff to be in the playoffs, though as has been said, Cardiff never win the playoffs so it shouldn't matter. Meanwhile, i'd never want us to not win a game, so the answer has to be no.
