Simple really, read the title again. Twitter, forums, you name it, it seem's Southampton (fans) have conceded that we will slip up, finish third, and lose the play-offs. The amount of negativity is ridiculous, and for that reason, I'm urging those fans to not travel to Peterborough tomorrow night. The team need a vocal, positive support which we usually provide, and have done all season. But, following Reading and West Ham's win, some of our fans have turned moronic. We are three points behind Reading, yet they have won the title. We are three points ahead of West Ham, but they will get second. What's the difference? Yes, Reading are in a better position and West Ham are on the up but if we already concede defeat we may aswell give up now. Tomorrow night and Middlesbrough on Saturday will be my 10th and 11th away games on the season. Our away fans are terrific and despite what many post on here, they aren't negative and back the team 100%. This is what we again need on Tuesday night. So for those of you who have already condemned our fate, please refrain from travelling to the game. Another 'Palace' is in order and I'm sure the boys won't disappoint. I was frustrated at the weekend's results but all it took to cheer me up was to read four words. On the Saints site the title from an Adkins' quote was "We still have belief" and this is what some fans need to have as well. Keep the faith.
Your team needs you when they are losing, not when they are winning! Cheer the boys on, regardless of the circrumstances. If you're 2-0 down, holler for all you're worth and believe they'll win 3-2. If you're three point ahead of your rival and have superior goal difference, don't let one indifferent result stop you singing your heart out for the lads.
I really dont see why everyone has lost the confidence after this weekend. We still have a 3 point gap on west ham, we have (what I think) is the easier run in out of us and west ham and I can see us getting 9 points out of these games. Leicester and Hull will be tough opponents for West Ham, and Birmingham will be tough for Reading on the last day. I still believe that we are in a great position and that we will be in the top 2 come 2:30 on 28th April. As SGMI says, we need to be vocal and support the lads. COYR!
I am travelling to Peterborough tomorrow confident we can win and I will make my contribution to the atmosphere. On a different note never been in a terraced area before so that will be interesting.
Some fans are nervous is all, doesn't mean they are any less passionate. It's better to moan etc on forums and that , then itis at the match. People find it a way of getting rid of their frustration.
From reading your comments it seems that you can't handle that Southampton lost to Reading and people have started to be a bit negative so you've turned on them. You're the one sounding moronic and I hope you don't go tomorrow, with your attitude to other saints fans.
Nah, I'm delighted that Saints lost to Reading, it's what all Saints fans wanted wasn't it!? Don't be so stupid, the reason I've had a pop at all the negative fans is because it is the last thing we need right now. And if you had read properly, you would have noted that I praised how terrific our travelling support is. Is that turning on Saints fans too?
It's ok to be a bit worried about the result on here, but I am quite certain that every fan who is going to the game will be singing their heart out from start to finish. Everyone has said that our away support has been great (except the odd Pompey naysayer) all season. I shan't be there but I am sure you will do us proud once again.
How any Southampton Fan could be feeling negative now beats me. i would swap places with you guys in a heart beat. Keep the faith and BELEAVE OK ???
Of course you would but its not about that to be fair is it ? Its about sheer and untter panic that has comsumed me now for nearly 72 hours , my wife is a Liverpool and does not have clue to what the fuss is about , needless to say its been an interesting weekend , my dog is whining at the moment to be walked , I have some work to be done for tomorrow and yet can not tear myself away from updating the OS , Daily Echo and the like for fear of missing something , on that note though I must depart as Winston is ragging the new blinds and I will be in **** street if they come off the wall.......................
