Ohhhh here we go again! "Morrison looks disinterested!" Well, come on I think we all know Lambert well enough to know he wouldn't play a player who didn't care! Get off the guy's back for ****'s sake and try actually supporting your team!
I'm not getting on his back? It's just the way he comes accross when you watch him. Also, I did say that we should be thankfull to him for the goals he has scored earlier in the season as things would be different now if he had'nt. I don't dislike Morison I just think that something does not seem quite right with him at the moment I'm not getting on his back but if he did want to leave in Jan then it is only natural to be curious as to why.
kemp, i'm with DM on this. people mentioned his body language earlier in the season but cos he was playing well and scoring goals, nobody felt it an issue. the second he loses form its all 'he doesn't try, his body language is all wrong'... well it was exactly the same when he was doing well! as DM says, lambert doesn't pick players who aren't in the right frame of mind or else the team would fall apart, not that i think we have any players who aren't in the right frame of mind. he's just bang out of form and its getting more obvious to me that he is the sort of guy who needs to be loved. lambert always goes straight to him and sticks an arm round him. fans booing and moaning and shouting abuse at him in the players lounge are hardly going to help his confidence.
Superman, Did he want to leave in Jan then? It's just that is the impression I got from reading this post? I'm just wondering why. I have never booed him and never will, I've never understood why people do that? Your there to give the team a lift and support them not to boo them on and off. I hope he finds form again with us as some of the hold up play earlier in the season was superb. I think we could do with another striker though as if Vaughan is going to be on the treatment table this much it would be good to have another viable option.
absolutely no idea kemp!! i know he was linked in the press to spurs but i don't think there was ever a firm bid. there might have been but it seemed like typical press speculation to me - player scores 6 in 6, gets linked to a move to a top 6 club. totally agree we need more firepower - not necessarily to replace morison or martin or whoever it may be, but to compliment them and increase our options. it'll also be the fresh face which is often required in the summer to keep people on their toes.
I AM supporting my team, Morison isn't! Do you HONESTLY think Morisons attitude/demeanor is helping the team? Most of the crowd stopped to applaud the team off on saturday, while he just walked off without so much as wave, that stinks! We all see things differently DM, I don't see him as a team player! Pilkington has now scored as many league goals as Morison, thats helping the team! ILD OTBC
Lambert wouldn't allow a player anywhere near that pitch, if he didn't think that player wasn't going to carry his weight.
Nothing said about either sub. I thought both Pilks and Brads had good games. Must have been tactical ???????
he certainly changed tactics, hence the changes, but i felt pilks was having a good game against the very underrated zabaletta. johnson, not so good but hoolahan came on and did well, surman scored of course, but wondered whether pilks had taken a knock as he's not had a decent run of games for a while due to injury
i remember seeing that fee and thinking that would be an excellent deal but also thinking, hang on, we would have to spend the same to replace him! it certainly highlights how well he was playing first half of the season. he hasn't suddenly lost that ability.
True, Supers, he hasn't suddenly lost that ability. But the formation and tactics don't allow for as many potent crosses to be swung in as was happening earlier in the season, and as you've said, Morison thrives on this kind of service. Deprive him of that and you have a far less effective player. But at the same time, Lambert is not about to set out a team just to show SM in the best light, so he needs to be flexible and adapt, which unlike Holt, he seems incapable - or unwilling to do.
you might not at the time though. he was our top scorer and terrorising premier league defences. he scored 6 in 6 at one stage i think... easy with hindsight, not that they made a bid i expect - just paper talk
His not worth that sort of money in the first place. It's going to be an interesting summer though as I think there is too many big forwards at the club.
who would you like to see come in northants? are you in the jay rodriguez camp like me or is there another you'd prefer to see?
Supers - I'd like to see Rodriguez, Snodgrass or Matt Phillips and Paul Taylor from Posh as the attacking options. Plus buying Naughton and also going for someone like Bridcutt for midfield.
Well, well, well... As supers has quite rightly pointed out, can't we all be a fickle bunch? Morison's form has certainly been poor in the second half of the season, and yes, at times he looks disinterested, but the man has proved he has got what it takes at this level. I don't have a clue whether or not he'll be sold in the summer, but have a feeling he may stay at Wilbraham's expense - we shall have to wait and see. By the way, while on the topic of rumours, I would like to relay one to you all that is well practiced in my part of Norfolk - anyone who has anything to do with Norwich City seems to have heard it and, despite this, I am yet to read it on here: it is loudly whispered that, around the time Morison lost his form, Marc Tierney slept with his wife. Seeing as Tierney hasn't played in months, that would certainly explain a hell of a lot, but it is only a rumour. If Tierney gets sold in the summer, however, I shall take it to be true - Lambert wouldn't want that sort of person at his club.
