I've made my negative feelings clear regarding 'rep', and this seems to be just another extension of this tool...

I don't use any gadgets or gizmos? Just type however the one thing I would like on here is a notification if someone has replied to my post or if I've added content to someone else's post to be notified of an update.

The reason I would like this is I often dip in and out. I never sit at the computer and start a post and sit waiting for replies. If I had a notification that someone replied I could reply myself sooner so the post flows more.

Not sure why you need to be informed if someone likes or dislikes your post? I'd rather know if someone is commenting.

Is it just me who would like this?

 

Also does this notification thing work on phones? As I use my phone a lot?

 

Can you not do something like that already, sure one of the teccies will know more, but i'm sure it's currently available...

 

It does mate, you get a red line across the top of screent telling you.

 

Worse then rep this thing.

What next, people able to make status updates?

 

I think the REP tie in has already been disabled.
We've had a visit from the GC mob too (always a pleasure, never a chore).
Can't see it lasting as I've only seen negativity about it across boards....

Syd whilst your on a thread, if you go to the top and click on thread tools....Then look at subscribe to thread what would happen?

Iv'e never done it but thought if may have something to do with what CT is asking................probably way of the mark here.

 

Is it not possible to just ignore the whole thanks / like / dislike thing ?

If you subscribe to thread you get ****ing emails everytime someone posts, I did it in error on iphone.

Annoying.

 

If you subscribe to a thread then you'll get notified when someone posts on thread I gather.

If you type in the word 'tool' you automatically get anyone of half a dozen Mag posters replying to the comment...

 

I'll give it a go and see what happens do you have to subscribe to every thread though?
