I don't think there's too much cause for concern - the simple fact that he's more than willing to discuss a contract extension is good enough for me.
Why, hes already got another two years on his present contract and if you read what he says he isnt concerned when he negociates a new contract.
The re-negotiation is less about the term and more about the wage, he's not on much at all(relatively) at the moment.
I imagine we'll still want to extend it if we're giving him a bigger contract though? And I thought it was supposed to be around £3k-4k, but I could be way off.
As I recall from the post match interview on RH on Sat, he was surprised they were talking about offering him an improved deal so soon after signing and that he was seemingly more than happy at the Club..
Nowadays £3k - £4k a week for someone of his ability is a pittance. The lad deserves more and it sounds as if the Allam's acknowledge this.
Fully understand that Lammie, but reading the HDM and the players comments, he seems quite at home at City and isnt pushing for it to be done by yesterday!
Yes he has. But i expect he will get an improved deal and it will also be extended by a year to make it a 3 year deal. Win Win for all parties. Chester deserves it regardless. end of.
They ruddy well should. FFS, we are paying McShane how much ? and Chester how much ? time for the club to get a grip of this situation. Correct me if i am wrong, but City or the Allams are paying McShane more to play for Palace than Chester is getting at the moment for us.
I think you've misunderstood me there - I wasn't trying to say that £3k-£4k is high, I was simply stating what I believed his wage is.
Positive that he seems willing to stay here. He maybe realises he's better staying and continuing to develop his game rather than sat on the bench for a premier league team. Can see him playing in the premier league withink a couple of years when he has gained more experience, hopefully that will be with us.
he'll be PL with us or some other club in the near future.. needs another season of rough npc attackers and then he'll be ready..
I think Chester is ready for the PL now. There are very few defenders in this country who have Chester's skill at defending. There are plenty of big buggers about, even in the PL but not a lot of players who can tackle like him.
So because the previous owners did some ridiculous deals for players we're desperately trying to offload all the new players should be paid ridiculous sums as well so that it's in line with the existing ones?
Apparently Reims are paying half of the wage for Ghilas, which is more than I thought they'd be paying.
