Main concern for next season

Discussion in 'Arsenal' started by gent, Apr 15, 2012.

  1. Yes and of course they have more possession so its to be expected - though never worked out why we dont get as many decisions considering we have more possession than them overall and in the final third <whistle>

a tale of 2 Ashleys - one 'played away' to 'dive in the box' and the other was known to 'dive in the box' home or away........

come on ! - do I have to explain 'box' to you?

    My main worries are:

    - Something happening to Sczesz. We need to put him in a cryogenic tank over the summer
    - RVP going - but this is mainly paranoia. He can still join Sczesz in the tank though.
    - Wilshere 'doing a Rosicky' and being out for longer than we thought. I just hope he's ready for pre-season
    - Keeping crap like Chamakh, Almunia, Squillaci and Denilson on the books

I have faith that Wenger knows where he needs to strengthen and what areas. Arteta, Santos and Merte were all solid/great signings, Benayoun was useful and Park was a complete dud but 4 outta 5 is a high ratio!

Pretty spot on. I think we have a good team but need a 2-3 players, covering those positions highlighted, to mount a serious challenge. As it stands, our squad is not good enough to challenge for the title. The most we can achieve is 3rd. With those players highlighted we can get 1st/2nd and either FA/Carling cup....

The biggest problem is the left back position for me. Neither left back have played a constant level of games, struggling with fitness.

I think both Gibbs and Santos are decent LBs. Their fitness is a concern, but there's no reason why they both can't have an injury free season next time <ok>

    My main worries are:

    - Something happening to Sczesz. We need to put him in a cryogenic tank over the summer

The back up for the near future is a guy called Martinez. He is excellent.

    - RVP going - but this is mainly paranoia. He can still join Sczesz in the tank though.

No question, Lets hope we get Podolski.

    - Wilshere 'doing a Rosicky' and being out for longer than we thought. I just hope he's ready for pre-season

We have a lot of midfielders coming through. One of them is going to come good.

    - Keeping crap like Chamakh, Almunia, Squillaci and Denilson on the books

Too much is made of this. We don't have a salary cap. They will not get a new contract, so if we can't find a buyer, their contract just runs out. Nothing we can do, until then. Just a fact of life.
