hell yeah stu! everyone wants to offer congratulations etc etc. made me realise that a lot of supporters have a soft spot for charlton
yep...gotta get that magic 100 points. cant see us not winning the 2 home games...also think we should destroy preston. so 103 pts predicted for me.
Would be fantastic to win it next saturday - although i'm going to Preston the following week - and making a weekend of it again.
Yep. Folk are being very nice. Hope we don't take the foot off the gas now. Badly want to win the pot. We should be able to relax now and play some great stuff. My points prediction of 95-102 is beginning to look omniscient. Wish I'd put money on it.
Yep mate, going to end up going to more away than at home ! - Then again, i suppose every home game is an away game for me with a 4 hour return trip. Although the ones close to me i didnt get to ! It was a day i will never forget - quite amazing that the last 3 times we have clinched promotion at Carlisle. The locals in the booza after were fascinated by that fact - but they were brilliant - even bought me a beer !
Yes indeed - bright red shirt, white tie, black trousers and my CAFC badge as a tie pin. Only downer is I'm in the middle of a six hour management meeting, of quite staggering boredom which if I hadn't been bouncing like a Superball today would have already rendered me comatose. I started wearing red when we hit the top of the league and decided to wear it after every game as long as we stayed at the top - that's seven months tomorrow! Needless to say, I had to buy a second red shirt...
Funny that, Tewkes, I wore a pink shirt today (closest i could get to red). Had several comments, emails and texts wishing us well.
I am back in the Dominican Republic. Conversation in bar here: Bar owner: You don't usually drink this much, Eddie. Me: I am celebrating. My team Charlton Athletic got promoted on Saturday! Bar owner: Never heard of them. What's that, hockey? Lacrosse? Me: Football. Bar owner: Football? I follow football and I still never heard of them. College team? Me: Not American Football. Soccer. Bar owner: I went to watch my neighbour play for Tampa Bay Rowdies once. Didn't like it. Left after twenty minutes. Me: Give me another cuba libre.
As I live in Wolverhampton and work in Walsall I have some very envious colleagues at work today. I got a message from a mate who is a WBA fanatic letting me know that the Wolves are known round here as "Dingles" after a certain family from Emmerdale and comiserating me for us having to play them next season, i must admit I can see the likenesses (particularly the ladies). Today is probably the first Monday I have ever felt good about going into work.......Roll on Saturday for a proper reception for CP and the lads.
