Unfortunately, this one has not turned out so well... http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/14042012/58/serie-serie-b-star-dies-heart-attack-pitch.html
really bad news RIP, it was only a week or two back that Mancini was lauding the screening efforts in Italy compared to the Prem. It goes to show that sometimes you just cant scan for these things , I suppose its only the fact its so rare that we actually hear about it in the news , there is usually news of this type once a month in the UK (fit healthy young people)
really sad news for this lad and his family and friends - (also makes you realise how amazing Patrice Muamba's survival and recovery has been.....)
Shocking that it has happened to two players so soon after each other, lets hope that measures to check such things are improved.
I think it shows that you can't always see these things coming. I think it won't be long before we have 4 quarters of 20 or 25 minutes with a 5 minute break. It would reduce the stress on players hearts - 45 minutes of continuous intense exercise will take its toll on everyone, and it would appeal to TV with more opportunities to have adverts on. Might not be popular in the short term but eventually people would get used to it.
Kinell, seen the footage. The kid is staggering trying to get back into position in defence, falls, then gets up again then falls for the last time.....his last thought seemed to be 'keep em out'. Don't know the circumstances, but most of his family seem to be dead too.
This photo says it all, horrible (no image of the deceased, just his team mates). http://www.football-italia.net/17711/livorno-player-morosini-dies-during-game
He's always been a top bloke. After top scoring the previous season Juve tried to sign him 2 years ago, Udine reluctantly accepted the bid and he wouldve quadrupled his wages but he flatly refused, saying he only wants to play for the Zebrette.
Yes very sad indeed. R.I.P. lad. Just shows how lucky Muamba was @ Tottenham with so many good medical people in attendance who were able to look after him.
