Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea Match History 1908-2012

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by THFC6061, Apr 10, 2012.

  1. Well actually I am not a Chelsea fan, though cant claim being neutral when it comes to Spurs. There was an angle that made it look like it was a goal by the way - check out the pics on the Spurs Chelsea thread on the Arsenal board. That is the angle that the referee had too.

Well said. I agree entirely. We defended appallingly. We were undone by that, and some dreadful luck.

  3. He should not have given it because he could not be sure - but until video replay comes in this is going to keep happening.

Even in that picture you can clearly see that the whole of the ball is not over the whole of the line.

Place your mouse pointer on the right hand edge of the ball and look directly down, Ammaar.
    It's not very close.

The whole ball has to cross the line and there's no way that it looks like it has in that picture. The picture is also at a favourable angle, if you take the pictures from a similar angle behind the goal it doesn't even look like the ball reaches the line.

It's not completely over the line but from that picture it seems a bit of an overreaction towards the ref.

Goals change games. Even goals that are not goals

How anyone can say that a game would not have changed, because a team was given a goal that wasn't one at all, is on the wum.

The picture above clearly shows it for those with any degree of perspective and distance. John Terry is laying across the line, using his body as reference the whole of ball would be over the line if it was directly over his arse. Picture an imaginary line from Terry's arse to this side of the goal parallel with the goal line...bloody miles away, wums all of you. <doh> The ball is pitch side of that line, i'd debate any of it was even over the line at all.

Considering this on the back of Lampards non goal v Gomes the other year, to say this is getting ridiculous is an understatement.

That's not how it works, PNP.
The photo is on an angle.
You need to point to the right hand edge of the ball and draw a line to the edge of the net parallel to the goal line, that will show you where the ball is relative to the line.
It is over - and the goal was correctly awarded.

Chasing goals you didn't score, I didn't realise football worked like that. You were not the best team as usual till the ****er in black hands you the game...again.

I'd wish you good luck, but you don't really need any more. <ok>

You're handing us far less credit than we deserve. Other Spurs fans have happily accepted defeat graciously. 5-1 is a riot and for the 200th time - you clawed your way back into it and had momentum.

I think this one can be left as a monument to Piskie's stupidity.

Don't rise(or should that be 'sink'?) to it guys, just appreciate :)

If its a goal, why don't Terry and Kalou (no.21) throw their arms up to celebrate or protest straight away??? because they saw BAE clear it. Kalou in particular makes an attempt to get to the ball when it pops back up. The only player is the cheating **** Mata who's spins away like he has, trying it on. Atkinson is looking at him.

Atkinson has since come out and admitted his mistake.

Drogs I'm not really interested in any game of football ruined by catastrophic decisions. How gracious were you to Germany as an England fan after Frankie boys 'no goal' decision in the last WC? Wouldn't have changed the game at all going in at HT 2-2 in that one would it?

Don't make me put you on the wum list, the other pricks intervention is totally predictable, but not yours. You should be taking your win graciously, not revelling in some display of footballing supremacy, thats my opinion anyway. <ok>

The only thing I'd applaud up til the 2nd saga, was Drogba's 1st, world class forward play...I wish we had one. <ok>

1st off, I'm no England fan and that has nothing to do with what happened today.

2nd, how have I behaved like a wum? My comments aren't intended to win you up notso so no need to point that finger. I have not gloated on your board once so tbh I am taking it graciously, I just don't agree with you on this issue. I also have not said the goal today rightfully stood, I'm with you in that it was a terrible decision but i don't agree that it affected the outcome of the match.

You have suffered incorrect decisions I agree, but when the official changes the scoreline, to say that has no bearing is a wum statement to me, there's just no logic to it. Name me one incident where your opponent was awarded a goal they didn't score?

Offsides, pens, fouls, handballs, I can accept, failure in these decisions does not physically change the scoreline, you cannot compare the instances.
