Yes, I suppose it was too obvious; still all this dislike should engender a little negativity on the board to quell all this zany positivity.
I agree with thread, but those thumbie things are annoying. I think Saints are capable of going up and are a good team, but that doesn't mean I am not concerned when other teams are doing well and it is very close.
I think it's more the abusing and slagging tone on posts that annoy me. I do jump in if someone is doing this to players. Doesn't make me "happy clappy". I would however prefer to remain positive than publicly kick the arse of the team I support. Anyone think I'm "happy clappy" should have been here Easter weekend. It didn't start til after we'd beaten Palace. I can be angry about my team's poor performance without slagging them off on here and throwing my toys around like a spoilt brat as some do.
All 3 teams at the top are very similar in points at the moment. It is a race and therefore finishing in the top two makes you a winner, but finishing third by the odd point does not make you a bad team and I would say the same if it was West Ham. I think (rather than am sure) that we will go up, but, if we don't, fans should realise that we had a great season and the manager and team will have learnt a lot. Always worse to lose out when leading all season, but no one would be slagging anyone off if we had crept up to third but just got pipped at the last. By the way, that's my head talking...you shouldn't imagine that I won't be severely distressed if we fail.
I think we should remember that Nigel is still learning and adversary and potential as well as real failure are great teachers. He will learn a lot about himself and the players in the next week or so and it will all help him become a better manager. I also think he will heave learned a great deal about our fans as well especially the fact that most of them are of a very nervous diposition.
