We have a fair side generally at the moment. There are some...bale, young and suarez spring to mind....who are persistant offenders though and should receive hefty bans.

It isnt just united who get the attention on these dives. It is everyone who gets it when deserved. I guess its just an evil of football. I think we are one of the worst countries for it...different to the myth thatr english players are fairer. Used to be the case but not now. I would say the fairest now are nations like the italians (shocking I know!)

The most disgraceful shocker is a goal I have just this minute seen given for Chelsea when the ball was NOWHERE near the goal line - about a foot away. Yet Atkinsin gave it!

The pen given in the Utd match was a 100% pen.

United fans seem certain it was a stonewall, personally I'm not so sure.

For those saying all players would have done the same I refer you to Lennon today and actually a lot of players at all levels who respect their opponent.

Wouldn't say stonewall penalty, but the way the rules and guidance from on high are now it was always likely to be given.

Yet Lennon has just been criticised by Spurs fans for not going down for the penalty. And do you think anyone will remember that one the next time he hits the deck to win a spot kick? Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

did someone say rugby players are real men?

Clearly never met a real man unless balls in mouth, licking anus and general gayness makes you a real man...

Then those Spurs fans are wrong, but I'm sure the silent majority would back him. What's encouraging is that he had the chance to and didn't even though it wasn't a situation that likely to lead to a goal. Last week Young threw himself over embarrassingly rather than have a decent chance of scoring which is worrying as he's almost programmed himself to cheat rather than get a shot in.

They may back him given the result, but I would guess their reactions would be different had it finished 2-1 to Chelsea. It is good to see that players don't dive all the time, but then it's also always useful to have the benefits of replays when judging what we perceive as a dive. I remember Adam (IIRC) talking about the free kick he won for Liverpool against Utd and saying that he couldn't believe how slight the contact looked on the replay cos it felt much stronger to him during the match.

And vs QPR I don't think Young had a decent chance of scoring at all. He was running straight at the other CB, with the ball on the wrong side for a right footed player to shoot. In fact, imo, the red card was a worse decision than the penalty in that game.

You guys still on about this. A player dived. Its happens fairly frequently. Go and enjoy staying up
