Enough of this England ****, they are a bunch of over-rated, overpaid mercenaries! If Young dives, then he'll quite rightly be booked. If only we had foriegn officials!
that was pretty terrible reffing there. Its one thing to favour a big side, but to be willing to endanger the health of a guy to do it? classy!
Hopefully some one will soon. Wait for the guy who does it to be publicly hung, drawn and quartered by the FA, the United fans and the United players. Still if it gives Young the career ending injury his theatrics deserve, we can all laugh and applaud the guy who does it. THe FA clearly can do something about it. Bringing the game into disrepute and a ban which prevents him from diving for glory in the European championship would be a good start.
Anyone remember Henning Berg who played for Blackburn and Manure? He said on the TV here last night that he thought the penalty was probably right as the Villa defender had put his leg out and there was contact. At the same time he reckoned the Ref should have given Young a Yellow for diving, he was impeded but tried to make it look far worse than it was. I kind of agreed with that except I'd have made it Red for diving - he should be banned for about 10 games too. 5 for Derry and 5 for yesterday, though of course he should have been suspended yesterday..
The annoying thing is these 'simulations' often result in a red card for the defender and a game is effectively ruined. Young appears quite happy to get his 'victim' sent off and subsequently banned which is as low as it gets. The fact he got a lot of stick last week for the Derry incident has apparently done nothing to curb his 'thespian' talents and you have to ask whether he is encouraged to do this by not just Fergie but previous managers as well as he has a well-documented history of cheating...
What a role model Young is. He is a disgrace. Pity the FA don't have the balls to do anything about it.
Pissy-pants Sir Alex said in the post match interview that it was a penalty but he thought Young made a meal out of it and that he needed to watch himself or end up with a bad reputation. If the greatest manager in the modern game is of the opinion that the clear dive was a penalty then what hope is there? When Utd parade the Premiership trophy around Manchester on an open top bus hopefully Young will dive off the top deck.
