Should anyone give a damn, except the blind faith Murdoch League advocates, about a game where 7 out of the 22 starters are English. Indeed with all the noise through the minute's silence, what kind of respect is being shown for real English football. Shame on all who follow the good ship Murdoch!!!!!!

Don't you get bored of all this Murdoch bashing?

I know he's easy to dislike, but I'm not sure he can be blamed for the make-up of the nationalities of players at football clubs, or anything that happens in the FA Cup. At least this year the FA Cup has decent teams competing for the final, the Pompey v Cardiff final was without doubt the dullest final I've ever been to.

Shame that another match has been spoilt by a ridiculous refereeing decision.

You miss the point about News International sponsorship and its implications on OUR National game. Are you blinded by the 'smoke'. Get what I did there Mr B?

So am I now the only person who thinks video refs woujld be the worst thing ever? If every refereeing decision is made by a computer we would ligterally have nothing to talk about post match and England would never have won a world cup.

I'm not a fan of video ref's, or anything else that slows a game down, but I see no reason for not implementing goal line technology immediately.

Have they got one that works yet? The tennis and cricket ones are not up to the complexities of a football goal full of players.

count the number of englishmen in the fa cup final between liverpool n everton 1n 1986 was it ?

If u include Lawrenson as english , he was the only starter for Liverpool who is English .

also the Man Utd team of the mid 80s was full of non english too - i think only Robson and the keeper - the england no2 were english in the final vs Brighton

I can't find the article that I read previously, but as far as I remember, it was 98% accurate in the match tests that it was tested in and it's instant.

98%??? That's probably hyped up and is still possibly worse than the ref and assistant For the few times it happens, what's the point?

surely a simple call to a video ref can be made in seconds. remember Hull City v Aston Villa. Ashley Young's handball or non-handball as it turned out? Although not the decision I wanted, it was right in the end and there must have been devine (fourth official) intervention!

The FA Premier League has stipulated that a goal-line system must be accurate to 5mm and Hawk-Eye has risen to the task.

The IFAB has stipulated that an “instant” system must be implemented: Hawk-Eye will provide an answer is less than 0.5 seconds.

I went to the Man United vs Arsenal final in Cardiff 7 years ago. That was a much worse game

I'm worried that goal-line technology will lead to things such as "video referee's", which for me, would really damage the sport. Stuff like that is okay for 'lesser' sports, like Rugby and Cricket, but Football is the sport.

I'm not against goal-line technology (as long as it is a quick yes/no in the referee's ear), i'm just worried what it could lead to... and if 2 or 3 wrong goal-line decisions a year are the price to pay, then I think i'm okay with that.

We also wouldn't have been unfairly knocked out of the lat 3 major tournaments...

As for talking points that's nonsense. I'd much rather talk about player performances and goals in the pub than sit and moan about how ridiculous it is that we still don't have any help for referees.
