Nope. Vegetarian (Come on, line up the abuse).

Even though I don't agree with eating meat though, there is a difference between that and causing animals suffering for entertainment, which is what racing is.

    Not leather shoes.

I'm sure if we go far enough we'll find something I use that does contain animal products, and I'm not trying to deny that. I do try to avoid them whenever I can though, and again I'll state that I think there is a difference between exploiting an animal for a product and exploiting it for entertainment.

Well, speaking as someone over the age of 35 (and still breathing) I am pleased that we messed around with animals for our behalf.

    marvo...
the line about horses not having a choice is quite simply not true. as someone who has worked in racing stable and ridden in races. if a horse does not want to do something it wont. A number of horses refuse to race at the start. racehorses are unbelievably competitive-even on the gallops if your working along sides another most will pull your arms out until its got its head in front. No other animal is as well looked after, loved or cared for than a racehorse. Animals, people...etc...etc die. My Dad had one die whilst it was out in the field-complete freak accident trying to jump out. It a sad fact of life.

The National was an incredibly sad event, Sychronised didn't actually break his leg in the fall at Bechers-it was a few fences on when he fell on his own. Changes do need to be made but one is not making the fences smaller-they are already too small really-the smaller they are, the faster you go, the more chance of fallers. The field size needs to be dramatically reduced and until they do that events like yesterday will keep happening.

completely agree with what evettr said. i myself do not like the grand national per se. I love trying to solve it granted but I do not enjoy watching the race in the current state. That said what I hate even more are the once a year brigade who know nothing about the sport and spout the biggest load of **** I have ever heard every year without fail. **** off back on your moral high horse and go and whinge to people who care because I can tell you people who follow racing as a sport and who are involved in racing care a hell of a lot more about the horses' wellbeing than you do <ok>
