I was half expecting a board full of ****, disgraceful and the like, hope I'm not speaking to soon. Benno said he thought the game was dire, he was wrong, I don't think it was that good. I think the season is all but over now, MON is trying to keep them going but far to many are on holiday and I can see some changes next weekend. Am I annoyed or upset, cant say I am, time to see out this season, enjoy what's left and start again, a few will be moving on or dropping to back up, IMO. The most telling words today came from MON in his after match interview,"We have a lot of work to do". He knows it, we know it so lets look forward to the work starting. BTW, the booing, blame the five pound tickets one off's, again, just my opinion.
Well what the **** was that today eh? Useless ****ing ****ers. Overpaid, overrated bunch of bastards if I ever saw one. Never bloody turned up at all. Sack the lot of the tossers. Seen better on a Sunday morning. That's it for me now like, not going back untill we've won 452 trophies & at least 84 of them must be champions league. It's the least we can expect after all them 643 years of suffering we've had to put up with.
The season is over Syd. We know it, the players know it. That's the problem. As for the booing...Really? People who pay a fiver haven't got the same right to an opinion as you? That's not really what you meant is it?
Players are on Summer holiday. They, evidently, are too stupid to realise they are playing for their futures. No loss if they can't be bothered though. MO'N will get rid of them if he does not think they are worthy!
Not at all, many good fans got to see a game they could probably not afford at full price and that's good but there will be those who turn up, boo, say I'm not coming back then go. I met one in the pub, first game of the season, just came because he got a five pound ticket and said he would never pay full price, thats before we started.
I love the stadium the fuller the better but the simple fact is that 5 pound tickets you are going to get people through the turnstiles that might not usually bother and some of those are opinionated boo boys who think we should win 5-0 when they honour us with their attendance incidentally I've had my season ticket since 1997, what the f do I get, wheres my 5 quid ticket?
Not a great game to watch, but with a striker who can hit the back of the net, things would have been so much different. Not too bothered, keeping a clean sheet and a point will just have to do.
Let's try to put things into perspective, the appointment of MO has raised the expectations of every one .When he was appointed,we looked like we were going down.He has signed nobody, spent nothing, and has kept us up comfortably. What more do people expect this season??
exactly this, some fans never cease to amaze me, imagine if bruce was still here, a 0-0 boring draw might just have had people celebrating
Thing is lads games like today could have brought in a few extra for the remaining home games that was the idea behind the marketing for this game. However after such a gutless toothless pitiful (can think of a few more) performance they will stay away. I said after the Spurs game that I had been guilty of apathy now it seems the players are as well. Poor then, dire at Blackburn even worse at Everton then being held by the bottom team at home the team as a whole have binned this season as they are safe now, lets hope someone tells them the season isn't over yet as some will not be here next season with that sort of attitude. I've seen games which kept me on the edge of my seat, I've seen games which boiled my piss and then there was todays which ranked as THE worst game of football I've witnessed. Wolves came for the point and got it again we were out thought as a team and, worryingly we had no answer for it yet again. Ah well there's always next season.
The restraint of fans shows just how much people appreciate what MoN has achieved in his short time at the club.... Daft fact of the day.. 16th April 1910 - Sunderland were to play Manchester United away but the train they were traveling on was delayed and they arrived 40 minutes later than scheduled. Subsequently the Lads had to run all the way to the ground for kick off. United won 2-0
But working hard to get things sorted, so he replied for next season.. SUNDERLAND will resist any attempts to lure Stephane Sessegnon away from Wearside this summer. Sessegnon has turned heads with a string of impressive performances for the Black Cats this season, and several clubs – including Arsenal and his former employers Paris St Germain – have been linked with the Benin international. But boss Martin O’Neill said: “I’ve seen comments from other managers speaking highly of Stephane, and that just goes to show how well he has done for us this season. “But I want to strengthen the side over the summer, and that’s the owner’s viewpoint, too. “It is certainly the owner’s view that any quality player we have here at the football club, we want to keep.”
It might have been the rock hard pitch with no grass. Todays footballing "geniuses" have it so tough.
I remember the lace on the ball mate and it becoming like a ton of wet dog when you headed it, also remember the bladder poking through the laces and puncturing any chance it got.
