I just did, the defender raising his arms in an....'oh ****, what have I just done' manner also poinbts towards him knowing his mistake.
It's quite clear that referees are terrible at their jobs, as further evidenced by this incident of diving resulting in a penalty, the second at old trafford in a week, involving none other than ashley young. All that has happened here is that he has taken advantage of the fact that referees are terrible at their job by diving to win yet another questionable penalty. Look at the statistics and stop crying about what every other team gets, it doesn't justify the fact that the number of questionable game changing decisions that have gone manchester uniteds way is significantly higher than any other club.
Watch his foot alan, contact is made, not much but its on his toes and its rubbish defending. Young made a meal of it, no question but it wasnt a dive and what the **** does it matter if he makes a meal of it, he was fouled and its a penalty. It really doesnt get much simpler unless you genuinely are that simple.
Having seen the incident from multiple angles, it is not a Pen and the way Young throws him self down is a disgrace.
Awww look, a Leeds fan at it now. Well you certainly have no opinion here on a Premier League clubs board but I shall just point out that Chelsea and Liverpool both get more decisions than us, as sky sports opta stats show. Now back in your hole.
contact on his foot ! feckin priceless I dunno how you got the BRASS NECK after watching this. no wait , your a united fan , i get it .
Maybe. Or perhaps some of us would like there to still be some integrity in the game rather than stuff like this being accepted. Whatever the rules say, minimal contact like this should not be a penalty unless it stops the player from passing or shooting or whatever and I don't think that's the case here and certainly wasn't last week. United and Young will hide behind the letter of the law but it's bollocks and I think you're very much in the minority with your opinion.
The guy is trying his best to get out of the way, there are limits to how the human body can move. If you think that's a penalty, then you really are deluded. That is not a penalty, young was playing for it because he knew he'd get it because he's a cheating bastard.
In every sport, in every business, in every aspect of life people push the rules to their limits. In most cases its considered forward thinking. In football a small number of fans who like a moan think its cheating. Cheating and pushing the rules to their limits are not the same thing, regardless of what people think. You, me, everyone on here pushes rules to their limits. Welbeck wooop
