Evans has had a pretty good season and has shut up his critics for a while with his good performances in the league in the past few months.

 

How does the league paper over the cracks? its played over 38 games to show whose really had the most quality and we're winning. Whereas in the cup one bad day ends it.

 

Oh and yeh, we have been the best team in this league without our best player arguably.

Impressive.

 

Yep, anyone can win the cup, anyone. Cardiff, Millwall, Portsmouth, Arsenal.........just a few clubs who were well out of their depth in a cup final in the last 7 or 8 years. Shows how any club can have their day. Its much harder to have their season though.

 

Hmmm, City collapsed.

Newsflash, we have obliterated last seasons final totals, the totals we won the title with. Like most seasons we were set a challenge and we beat it down.

 

A false position for United would be 2nd.

 

City have hardly collapsed either. We went on an 8 game winning streak and they would have needed perfection not to fall behind. Which is a lot to ask.

Whilst we bemoan the fact that, in the league, our performances have not earnt us nearly enough points, the mirror image can also said to be true for United. Your points total does not reflect the quality of your overall play throughout the season. As with last season, your present position has, at least, as much to do with the failures of other sides.

 

If we win the last 5 games we finish on 94 points. How would a potential winning total of 94 points (at worst high 80s) be a title won by the failure of others. Do expect city to win every game?

 

City and Spurs are having arguably their best ever PL season. Chelsea and Arsenal have both recovered very well from poor starts. Sunderland, Swansea, Newcatsle are all exceding expectation.

So......besides Liverpool, who is having a poor season?

 

Between the 2 of you, to get anywhere near the level of United, £96.4trillion dollars of investment will be needed.

Any less will result in total failure.

 

Something decliney like will be the response.

 

Usually 12 months is the waiting period, sometime less. Its hard waiting that long though.

 

People said that last season. See this season for evidence of how wrong people can potentially be.

Ironically enough if we don't win the title it'll hit us harder financially next season rather than this one. 2nd place gets £10 million less in CL revenue from the market pool. In fact, we earned more from the market pool this season than last, thanks to coming 1st in the league in 2011 vs 2nd in 2010! UEFA's money distribution is very dodgy in that respect.

And IF Liverpool don't win the FA Cup then your season will have been pretty much your worst since Souness.

Whereas IF we win the league then we have managed to do so despite losing the best keeper in the league, the best CB in the league and our best CM of the last three years, and replacing them with three U21s. That's what I'd call a successful transition

Ah, good to see that old subjective chestnut is still around. You could say the same about any title winning side - you can only ever win the league through the failures of other sides. If another team wins all their games, they'll always win the league.

 

I know and when you have 3 of the worst in football. Shameful.
