To comment on Dyche's signings--he has assembled a reasonable supporting cast , but no "leading men"-- players capable of turning or winning a game. We still lack the creativity/goal scoring potential needed to be a top- half team. We relied on loan players for that this season--it may be the same again next season. But Dyche himself has grown into his role, and is beginning to look a good manager. It will be interesting to see what kind of football his teams play once we have a decent pitch.

This season was about survival in this division and hoping that Bas did not lead the club into financial disaster. Well, we survived and the "Bas plan" (whatever it is) has so far not only avoided disaster but seems to be delivering some stability, even improvements in the infrastructure. So what can we expect next season? Consolidation on and off the field? Or can we hope for a bit more? At least it seems we can we stop worrying about relegation and administration for a year or two.

Yep, fair enough NNW, as long as the same principle applies to the opposition. I suspect we're all keener to see red for them than us

Hear, hear NNW. recorded the FL show and just watched it. He made a brilliant save. Watch the BBC online highlights to see it. Talking of our keepers, is Gilmartin still on loan at Yeovil? He wasn't in their side for their demolition by Stevenage.

Now we have the depth/quantity I hope we can add to the quality side of things. More and more clubs are coming into this league with money (more money than ourselves) so Im not sure If we will always get away with scoring so few goals. Next season Deeney is going to be under a lot of pressure to score at least 13/14 league goals, so I hope Dyche can relieve that pressure off his shoulders by signing a decent striker in the summer, someone who will get at least 9 or 10 (i.e if 1 is in a bit of poor form the other can chip in). But the only way our strikers will get a decent amount of goals is if first and foremost the midfield get the ball to their feet and secondly we have some pace on the bench, wingers (actual wingers) who can come of the bench and use their pace to run at tired legs. Next season I would rather see pacey young players like Britt and Massey come off the bench than players like Garner, Yeates, Iwelumo etc coming off the bench.

He played for us in the midweek 'friendly' against Birmingham - if that means anything.

Evening all. I hate to say this but
. Dowd is not fit to referee a sunday league match. He was abysmal!! Having seen Mapps tackle 3 times i have to say it is not a yellow card at all. Both players went for the ball in the air and both missed and ended up colliding. The only problem was that Liam Rosenior acted like he had been shot. It was just a coming together of two players who were challenging for the ball. However, that is only my opinion.

I spoke to Mapps and Nos and both said it was a 50-50 challenge but you could argue they were late. I also spoke to Lloyd and he was not happy with the match, he though we could do much better.
