Was talking about this season, if you make it back in the future then you will have earned it can't see you qualifying next season without a couple of decent signings.

i think most non deluded mancs would accept utd need 2-3 players of genuine quality, especially in midifeld to be at the level they want to be at.

well thats not true, no matter what they will show profit... on the books. the problem they have is the glaziers pocket it all <luagh> seriously though their debt reduction is going as well as any debt reduction could go given how it was getting out of control there a while back.. I think now its not such an issue but i can't see them sepnding more than 25-30mil on anyone so sneijder is out.

Any of you cheering on a particular team in the semi later, I would go with spurs I think, both will be difficult to beat tho.

 

Yes they have reduced their debts but that has been based on them winning things, a season with no league success, and poor runs in all the cups is sure to hit them pretty hard.

All that said and done, I still expect them to win the league anyway. Their friends in black have pretty much sorted it for them on the last few games.

You have a hole in the centre of your defence. That Fredinand/Vidic combination is long in the tooth and may never be re-established. You have a porous midfield and for your attackers you have 1very lazy person, 1 Mexican who now trips over his own feet and 1 young pony who needs time to mature. Oh and BTW, Carrick is NOT decent (he might be a very nice young man though).

Still think Adam will be far better next season - though he may be reduced to a squad player.

Agree that we need a signing in the midfield department as we have been lacking in that area for a while now.

Carrick is a decent player and some of his fellow pros such as Xavi and Alonso seem to rate him.

 

Even if United don't win the title, they will still show a profit. The danger for United is not winning the title this or next year and repeating their CL form from this season. Then, as you intimate, the debt repayment process either slows or stops.

On a more general economic tack, the latest problems in Spain and the lack of any good news from Italy could provoke an even greater Euro crisis in the next few weeks. If so then there could well be a desire from Spanish, Portuguese and Italian clubs to cut their wage bills which could lead to some 'bargains' being made available or indeed a fire sale! In the UK, the taxman's stance with Rangers might indicate that they will not be so willing to support clubs in the future and this could lead to a change in their player valuation policies.

In all fairness, i do accept that carrick is not as bad as I have painted him - but I needed a target and Evans hasn't been playing badly recently

 

No word of a lie guys but some Liverpool fan who goes by the name 'KENNYSAVEDMYSEASON' or some hocus pocus name like that says Liverpool have had a better season than United.

Lets discuss

1st...........8th, personally the CC and the FA Cup final have only papered over the cracks.

 

IF you do fail to win the title, then your season will not have been successful and the cracks in your squad will need to be addressed urgently.

IF Liverpool do win the FA Cup then they can point with some justification to their season having been successful whilst in the process of transition.

 

Its not actually possible for first place to paper over the cracks. Especially when everyone knows its not a false position.
