I'm not saying everyone who goes to a race meeting is a prick! I'm saying I can't the stand the ones that are all la-di-da.
You often hear about racing stables staff getting their own back on the bosses Premier so they don't have it all their own way, lets just say quite a few trainers wives have been 'visited' by the racing workers over the years for example
Never been to the first two but yes Wimbledon arouses similar annoyances for me. Another one where people who spend 99% of their year saying they hate sport suddenly become massive fans. As for the West stand lower, I sit there and it isn't very posh at all around me. Just a mix of kids, your typical football crowd bollocks-shouters and one hilarious old dear behind me who doesn't seem to realise how funny she sounds.
I hate horses - it's one irrational phobia I genuinely suffer. Equinephobia? Something I actually dread when going to away matches is passing the horse-mounted police, (glad we don't see them too much at the KC). I still don't like the fact that so many seem to die at the National though. However, I don't know how I do it as I'm not a betting man but I tend to win every year in the National. Won £50 today with a £1 e/w bet and only cos I thought the horse's name sounded cool!
Equinophobia it is. I guess a few astronomers would have got the winner today with it being named after a planet and all.
How can anyone watch this annual bloodbath? it's a national disgrace. All so aload of silly toff ****s can dress up, sip pimms and have a 'flutter' Sickening.
If you go to Beverley Races, you'll find there's not much difference between the crowd there and the crowd at a City game. The only real differences, are that there are more women at the races and significantly more arrests.
I like to play the game "Spot the woman that isn't having a piss in the middle of the street". It's ****ing hard.
The thing with the horses been put down is due to them not being able to race (competitvely) again yes these horses could be treated and recover to be retired or pleasure but would cost a fair bit but horse racing is a business I know someone whos horse broke its leg show jumping it cost a small fortune in vet fees and couldnt be ridden for ages but it did recover to be ridden for pleasure ........but I guess thats the difference between a pet and a business asset
I had a shocker this weekend. I put a bet on Everton and Spurs to win their semi finals and both lost. I backed the horses to win in the Grand National, rather than each way, otherwise i'd have got something back. Then i went to Market Rasen today and lost every bet i put on. Infact most came a sorry last or close to it.
Surely that's only going to apply to the females? The males if they've got any kind of pedigree to them would be valuable still if they were put out to stud.
