Here are the results of today's league. Yorkie's holiday has done him a power of good as with 60 points he consolidates what begins to look like an unassailable lead over Ak - who had a bit of an off day for him but still leads 3rd place by a handsome 100 points - Hornethologist moves into a narrow lead in 3rd place - but wait - what is this? - with the best result of the day - a stupendous 65 points we have yours truly rocking the foundations of the league and challenging the 3 positions above him who do not even post in 30th place

Well it's my one and only decent score this year - I wont let it happen again

 

I will publish an incomplete result this week so that we can see where we are before the West Ham fixture takes place - and then update again on Tuesday

 

As stated above this is a partial result with the Leicester West Ham result to come. However Salisbury with 70 and Two Ross Jenkins with 65 have already registered high scores and moved up the table significantly. Can Salisbury hold his place for the Bronze? There are half a dozen others still in contention for it. Gold and Silver look fairly certain to be settled unless Ak can kidnap Yorkie and then produce a high score himself next week.

In the absence of the great man himself I suggest that the winner be awarded the Sir Luther Blissett Trophy - is that OK?

Apart from (in my case) a flipping miracle, what does one have to do to bag a score like 70?

Have never seen the scoring system listed anywhere.

 

don't quote me, but i think to get a high score, you have to predict correctly

 

Why didn't I think of that?

 

On the first page of the sticky posting thread there is a link to the rules page which has the scoring system.

Salisbury got 4 predictions totally correct which is worth 10 points each and because one was Watford he doubled points on that; plus he got 3 more results correct but not with the correct score so gets points for those - also a point per prediction which everyone gets - so 7 out of 9 correct results with 4 correct scores aint shabby is it? To feel better though King Yorkie scored only 16 which included his 10 for taking part - he's just rubbish isn't he
