Martin Samuel, Jeff Stelland ("A switch in the balance of power on Merseyside" ), Sky Sports, Sunday Supplement, "The rest of the country" according to David Notrophies.... YOUR BOYS TOOK A HELL OF A BEATING!!!!!!!!!
Right. I momentarily forgot about old Bill's day job. Thought someone was going to tell me she was born in Gwladys street or something.
two fingers to the bleedn lot of the hateful london press..... two fingers to anyone wanting kenny to go cos they beleive the london press.... genuine commiserations to everton fans though... you did the city proud. finally..... congratualtions to the newkie fans for getting to europe.. may it get you relegated next year seeing you we're having a right laugh at our expense.
If Everton finish above you which they should do, then the balance of power will be complete there is no doubt about that.
He is a muppet. He think Dalglish is unaware of our problems? The owners have already taken action this week with Comolli and this summer looks set to be interesting with Dalglish at the helm.
only an absolute idiot could write "If you are going to cover up cracks at a football club, doing it with silverware is a highly attractive option - and one that clearly appeals to Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish." that had got to be the most idiotic statement i have ever ever read. I mean ok the idiot who said "If Everton finish above you which they should do, then the balance of power will be complete there is no doubt about that." is fairly stupid but mcnulty's statement has to be the worst since "peace in our time" by neville chamberlain.
Everton are currently 1 point ahead of us, lets imagine the season finishes with us and them in the same positions. Do you really believe that a one point difference that has little significance somehow outshines Liverpool lifting at least one trophy, getting to the final of another and qualifying for europe (albeit for the europy). Do you really believe that or is just you yet again seeking online attention because you get none in real life.
Mc numpty is just another in a very long line of bitter blues who will not give credit where it is due.
No, that was Districtline, post number 11. I remember the last Merseyside powershift of 2005, look how well that worked out.
I don't believe there is any merit in a 'powershift' argument to be honest. This game wasn't going to be it - its a random cup final. In the league they may finish above us but I still wouldn't call it a mass 'powershift'. As ever, we'll be higher next year and Everton won't invest to take themselves above us on the long stretch. Similar with Spurs and Arsenal.
I like how 18 titles and countless trophies can all be overturned by being 1 point above us in the league... We've had our worst run in years, and they're still only just above. Plus we beat them 7-1 on aggregate this season
Picked up absolutely loads of papers on the train today - unanimous in their belief that Everton were strolling it for 60 minutes until Distan's mistake, Everton's goal was a world class finish by Jelavic, whereas our two were the result of dreadful mistakes and Suarez and Carroll simply had to tap the ball in; one (Telegraph) barely mentioned Everton's goal was offside and Coleman should have been sent off; several stated Everton 'dominated' a desperately poor Liverpool team in the first half (does anyone have the stats? - I counted six Everton attacks to eight by Liverpool when I watched the recording earlier this evening); and some t!t in the Mail ('natch) spoke about how Liverpool weren't in with a shout until the Suarez goal, then goes on to say how Carroll missed two sitters before his goal - totally oblivious to the contradiction. Didn't see the usual Sunday Supplement wake whenever Liverpool win (had a lie-in ) but Kamara's funerial face on Goals on Sunday was a treat. , but talking of the Fail, what were the 'Couple of decisions' Timmy Twatface reckoned went against them? The offside goal? the non-sending off? my god, the wailing and gnashing of teeth that FSG had the audacity to sack Commolli and not execute Kenny like the press wanted has hit them hard. Surprised they haven't (yet) started lobbying the FA to ban Suarez for capitalising on the mistake of a black player and overturning the result so that good old, ever popular Davey Moyes gets that first trophy for ten years of never complaining about refereeing decisions (remember the dvd of Andy Johnson decisions he sent to the FA ) he so richly deserves and the defiant, hated Dalglish does not for refusing to swallow their jiz. YNWA
Plus we beat them 7-1 on aggregate this season Yes, but their one goal was an absolute world-class, dead-eyed finish from a re-incarnated Puskas which was only a little bit offside (and he scored it right-footed whereas only the left-half of his body was offside, so stop nitpicking, as craig Burley says): in contrast all ours were from inexplicable, unforced mistakes by their galliant defenders who were so much in control of the respective games that they simply felt compelled to give us a chance to compete with them.
