Mario Gomez at club level bangs them in, Diego Milito does as well. If we are talking pure forwards. Eto'o for me as well even though he is out in Russia.

I honestly don't know if Rooney should be up there. Never performs for England that's for sure

Our squad has 40 goals so far in the league...

Both of them are on a different level.

The criteria was 'forwards', not 'strikers'. That means we're not rating them simply on goal-scoring, which most of that list offer nothing more than.

I wouldnt say Rooney.

He goes through to many up and down patches.

For every long goal scoring run he has he has a long goal drought. He has at least one goal drought each season.

He's quality, but doesnt keep it up enough. You need to be more consistant to be among the best in the world.

Top Premier League strikers:
Van Persie
Aguero
Bent
Rooney
Suarez
Tevez

Lionel Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo
Robin Van Persie
David Silva
Neymar
Wayne Rooney

To add to the Rooney debate, he just gets in for me on this seasons form.

Mario Gomez?

Some of you need to actually watch football instead of just agreeing with what the ****ers on sky say.

Mario Gomez....

2009– Bayern Munich 91 apps 63 goals

2007– Germany 51 apps 21 goals

This year in 40 appearances 38 goals for Bayern in the league. Yes, your right, Gomez is just a FM dream. <doh>

So in other words **** off kinghotspur and watch other leagues outside of the BPL <ok>

Darren Bent is statistically one of the top 3 most consistant PL strikers over the last 10 years.

That's the problem with stats...

The list is about world class players. Do you really think that Bent is one of the world class strikers in the premiership? I am not saying he isn't but I remain to be convinced.

rooney is not one.

look, messi and ronaldo as easy picks. after that there are quite a few guys who are at the same sort of level. I am not going to put suarez there as he's got to prove something at club level.

gomez is a shout currently but there again he needs to prove himself longer term. a couple years ago he was awful.

I would put RVP up there cos he has it all, pity he plays for a club with no ambition ;)

david villa has to be on the list despite injury and i think aguero is one as well.....

we've lost e'tto to greed and imbrahimovic to lazyness and torres has lost it spectaculalry... drogba has aged too much.
