Danny Welbeck has been called up to the England squad for tonights game... http://www.rokerreport.com/2011/3/29/2078264/danny-welbeck-called-up-to-england-squad
I was just about to put this one on the board myself but you beat me to it. This just adds to the already big interest I have for this game. Over 20,000 Ghana fans expected at the game as well which should make for a very interesting atmosphere!
England 1 Ghana 3 Gyan, Mensah and Muntari score for Ghana, Welbeck comes on in the last minute just to make sure he can't play for Ghana in the future and scores a screamer in the 93rd minute. Capello resigns after the match, Steve Bruce agrees to take over on a part-time basis to see us through to victory in Poland-Ukraine while continuing as Sunderland's first EPL-winning manager, I am released from Ryhope Mental Hospital and ...
Bitter sweet news, great for Welbeck but I feel every bit of good news like this makes what was a slim chance of getting Welbeck even slimmer.
Looks like it will be an early morning call for me, 2am kick-off out here but will be very keen to see young Welbeck in an England shirt. Hope Bent has a stinker and Welbeck steps into the breach and scores the winner, with the assist coming from the pony-tailed one.
Come the summer Welbeck will make his own decision as to wether he remains at Old Trafford. SAF can say all he wants but if he cant or wont give the lad assurances the lad will be off. Bench time is of no use to a player of his undoubted talents at this stage of his career.
think we're getting carried away here, great for danny, but saf isn't gonna let a future international leave, especilly one that he has already stated as having a great future, and as for danny if saf says he wants him and given a choice of mufc or safc, lets be honest with ourselves,
There's no chance we're gonna keep Danny, but it's still fantastic that a player can get an England call whilst at SAFC, and should serve as some inspiration to potential signings that they actually CAN further their international ambitions whilst at the club. http://www.rokerreport.com/2011/3/27/2074734/welbecks-world-starting-to-become-clearer
I still think we have a chance. Berbatov cant even make the starting 11 at the moment, and fergies pet Macheda will be back from his spell in Italy. Danny's tasted starting and scoring this season, will he want to go back to the reserves? Ferguson will milk us for every penny now though.
