After watching the game the one thing that struck me was the (lack of) a willingness to take a chance and go for it. Rather they would decide to off load sometimes going backwards. This is what quality brings to the table, we all know what is needed but in all honesty what do we think will happen in the summer (Realistically). I would be over the moon if we could manage to bring in a decent striker and a decent attacking midfielder. We will have to spend to get these types in but I would be happy with just two buys and bulking up the squad with loanees. This all depends on holding on to both Sess and McClean.
Agreed. It was interesting to read your thoughts on McGeady earlier on. I assume you'd have seen him a lot Derry. I'm surprised he's rated so highly by so many. Especially at the asking price.
Id break the bank for Gylfi Siguurdson he's a class act in the middle of the park. We also need two strikers in the summer. I really like fletcher and he was very unlucky not to be on the scoresheet today. Would like us to go after Odemwingie too, think they could be a cracking partnership.
IMO Billy he is worth no more than £4M if that, yes he's quick and has skill but often loses it and most certainly has no delivery. He can very rarely penetrate a defence and is very frustrating to watch. Unless he has improved ten fold in russia then it's a no for me. I watched him a few weeks back for Ireland and thought if he and Hunt is keeping McClean out of the squad then god help us. The kind of midfielders we should be looking at are Frimpong/Hoillet/Jarvis who I think are not out of our range.
Liked McGeady a few years ago, but he wanted too much, hence he was named by the press as "Greey McGeady" Dare say nothings changed.
