Heard the booing today, Then in the heat of the moment after match posts on here, there seems to be the first few cracks appearing about recent results etc.. Maybe we need time to reflect where we were, and what could have happened.... Now no-one is above blame, even the manager himself, but let's have a long hard think here.... We were ****e today, and that is now only 1 win in 8 games, but......................think about it.
It was a poor game today, but it always makes me cringe when I see (hear) people twisting after a couple of poor games..I must say that it was only a very small minority mind..
I personally think MoN's fantastic management over the last few months has hidden the facts really bar Sessegnon and the potential of McClean we do not have any players that you would think that a club in the top 6 or 7 would come calling for and at the end of the day no matter if we have won 10 in a row or lost 10 in a row we have an average squad with a lack of a cutting edge and without a ruthless streak. Don't get me wrong average is alright for were we are at the minute but if we seriously have ambition to kick on we need to stop the inconstancy in performances. MoN see's these players on a day to day basis so time will tell what he does but I think more players will leave than what we expect and I think there will be some suprises in there
Booing a crap display is one thing but I bet if you asked MON has 100% backing from our fans. It's just end of season now't to play for syndrome coming out in the team.
I don’t think cracks are starting to appear. Its frustration from the crowd after their expectations have been raised. We all have to remember that this is an inherited very average squad that dabbled with relegation only a few months ago. I personally don’t believe Steve Bruce had that great an eye for discovering talent. Yes he discovered a few gems but he also signed a lot of average players and & some of them are still here. The team will be strengthened in the close season and I believe many existing players will be shown the door that’s if they can be sold on. We desperately need an injection of pace and more players with an eye for goal.
Was just about to type something similar. The only defence people can come up for is that he put a decent team together, but was unable to manage them well. Bar the odd exception the general rule has been that most of his recruitment was ultimately pretty average. MON has shown what he can do with the same players without the same luxuries Bruce had bringing the players in.
No goals in 4 of your last 5 games. I think it's fairly obvious what you need, a bit of beefing up through the team and then that one, quality, quality striker to keep the goals ticking over and you'll accumulate so many more points. imo
I think so, I reckon I could pick out ten games this season where the only thing that has stopped you getting more points is a striker to stick the ball away.
Its galling that you got Cisse for £8m and we paid £8.1m (eventaully rising to a possible £12m) for Whicham!
To be fair, they quoted us 15 million in the summer, and we refused to pay it. They were desperate to offload him in January,so offered us 12, we said no, 10 we said no, then eventually settled for a little over £8million. Just comes down to being stubborn really Calm down Bill, only giving my opinion, if it's not wanted then you need not comment on it
Looked like a team that was already on their summer holidays. Mon has squeezed all he can out of this lot. We have reached our goal for this season post Bruce. Today was very disappointing bit Mon picked the best team available to him. We had one option on the bench and he was brought on. Don't think there's a great deal more the manager could have done today. Haven't scored for 4 of last 5 games? That's because Bruce left us with hardly any goal scoring threat. We have possibly the weakest forward options in the league.
Oh look the ever so touchy plastic mag is back to gloat, **** off Cheik! I love how quickly the mags have become patronising. Like they all have been ultra succesful and they were all happy with how things were going before the season started. **** OFF!
Sorry Tony but I was having a good conversation with a few of the decent sunderland lads who didn't seem to find me patronising, I'm finding your obsession with me a little creepy now.
