Writing in his programme notes, Short said: "Looking at a league table based on results since Martin took over, we would be in joint-fifth position with Everton, who have played a game more than us in that period." He added: "We have taken 31 points from the 19 league games Martin has overseen. Were that to be repeated over another 19 games representing a full season, we would accumulate 62 points, which last year was enough to reach fifth place. "That's comparable with the sixth position Martin managed to get Aston Villa to in each of his last three seasons in the Barclays Premier League before joining us. "Our aim is to establish ourselves as a club who can regularly finish in the top half of the table and look to climb as high as possible. "You would have to go all the way back to 1955 to find the last time the club finished in the top six, but top-six form is what we have had for the last half of the season, and we are seeking to consolidate this improvement and look to build on it in the seasons to come." Hopefully he gets his money out in the summer and backs MoN, if MoN had 20m to use in the summer he could do wonders
the bloke sounds very serious to me, has studied our history and he is on the ball we're in very capable hands imo
Agreed mate, you are the perfect example that with the right scouting system in place then you do not have to go down the road of big spending. Congratulations on your success at getting into Europe, cracking season and you's deserve it.
Thanks mate. We have blown 12 point leads before so I am hoping we don't this time. Would love to be back in Europe. I think it is a model that should be used by most. If we can do it, any club can.
O'Neill has accumulated the same amount of points in the last 10 league games as Steve Kean has. We can all present our own facts.
Dear Terry Wooden head sorry Hardacre Present all the facts this season is ending satisfactorily for us after our bad start
Too late now Short i have just cancelled my season ticken renewal for next season, (i cannot afford it anyhow) i have had enough garbage over the years and that was the final straw, inept throughout that club no further on since the 1950,s, and good riddence. And we keep hearing the usual rubbish by chairmen, owners etc like now about when we 6th etc etc well i do not buy it, we are never going to win anything as the wrong set up is down there.
Think ffp will dictate our spending and if we continue to only get 37,000 at home our progress is going to be limited
Why? Surely you must be somewhat excited by what MO'N has been doing! At the very least he will have you as a regular top 10 which is better than usual! I appreciate you can't afford a season ticket however surely you will still go to some home matches?
Just for you dude. Go on, you know you want to. http://www.afrointroductions.com/?o...ct&ovtac=PPC&gclid=CKjwoLyFta8CFQQMtAodvnCwjg
