BRILLIANT! Coventry level, Bristol city now drawing. Coventry may well have something to play for when we play them. This is awful!!!
I think that injuries have played a part as well as loss of form. For me, Connolly is a major miss as he is by far the most intelligent player in our forward line. Richardson has also seen injury hit his form - the better performances would definately see me put him in contention with those in the runner for Player of the Season although the first choice must be Lambert. On top of that, Chaplow was sensational before he got injured and I think Cork is a but hit and miss although an exceptionally good player when on form. Morgan is also bvery under-rated in my opinion and his vision with passing would have helped with beating Reading last night. Lets not forget Tanadari Lee who was also on fire during the few games he he played. All in all, I think that this probably accounts for a dip in form. Concerning slagging players off, do you really think that there has been a Saints player who has been bad all season ? I would tend to think that everyone has had patches when they have played well. Guly was very good last season and I felt that he continued in the same vein before Christmas. Since then, he's not been great and there are instances where he has been poor. As soon as he came on last night, I knew we had lost the game. As far as the automatic place is concerned, Reading have really ridden their luck this season and there recent run of form means that they will outstrip us in the final run in. A lot of people on this board have under-rated West Ham. The games I have seen them play on TV against Barnsely and Cardiff have seen them rip their opposition apart. Granted that Saints did fabulous up until December and were easily the best team in the league form wise, I always felt that West Ham had the better sqaud but had under-performed. They will overhaul us and already the goal difference as well as points are being whittled down. I will be hugely disappointed by the way the season looks like concluding but it is our own fault. Holding out againt Pompey last week would have made it difficult for the Hammers but all too often we have thrown games away. last night was an exception as it was a great performance and the result was very cruel in this respect. Stop slagging off the players. Stupid to criticize Fox who has payed well this season. We've done alright even if we haven't secured what most people thought was in the bag.
On a brighter note, if results stay as they are, Coventry look like they'll be dead and buried by the time we play them, should be a gimme.
Being a bit presumptuous there aren't we? I've judged Fox based on what I've seen of him in each game, and in some games I have appreciated and expressed the fact that he did a good job. In many others, I have been disappointed with his performance and I feel like we are capable of attracting players who do a better and more consisted job than he does. I'm on here trying to fairly debate the strengths and weaknesses of our squad and express my opinion without insulting anyone, whereas you guys are looking into what I have said and trying to deconstruct my opinions by prejudging me personally. How about you back off and stop being so arrogant.
uhm... they're now drawing, if they win they will be only two points away from saftey, with Bristol City having to play west ham. So not really dead and buried.
This is like relying on Jaidi or having Marian and Killer sitting about giving a false impression of cover though. He might be our most intelligent player but it was a major stroke of fortune that he was fit long enough to play a part in our going up last season and our early season form. Reading signed Le Fondre and although he's taken a while to get up to speed he's magic and isn't on the treatment table.
Whats the matter with half of you on here? My brother supports WHU - he called to gloat that our goal difference is diappearing. I reminded him they can do something about that but WE ARE 3 POINTS AHEAD. We have a great chance to go and get the 3 points on Tuesday and WHU have a tough game against Leciester. My broher was saying they have nothing to play for against them - my retort was that Leicester have been like this all season - not an easy game. But is largely irrelevant what WHU do - we have 3 games to go, win 3 and we are there. The other point is Reading also have 3 games left - if they lose one we could overtake them - they are at Birmingham final day of season - why cant we win the title. So, how about we stop whining like fannies and get on with it?
And what? I was dubious about the signing because I thought we had two decent players at LB already. I then watched him play and wasn't particularly thrilled by what I saw. I never said that I had assumed he was a poor player without having seen him play.
