Red Hot Chili Peppers for me. Saw them at Leeds Fest a few years ago. None of them looked interested to be there, and in fact 3 members buggered off towards the end of the set leaving Flea to do a Bass solo for what seemed forever. They bloody headlined it and all.
Yep. I also went to see The Stranglers in Hull 3 years ago and they were supported by 'Starbase 109', a pair of freaks who thought they were aliens and sang 'Follow The Green Cross Code' and 'Clocking In, Clocking Out', a song whose lyrics basically described the process of clocking into a factory. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Flock of seagulls was the worst single live performance I've seen(at a festival), the bloke simply couldn't sing. The weirdest act I ever saw was a performance artist, who's whole body was covered in clear bags of basked beans, which he spattered in time with the music. It was on at Futurama 2 in Leeds he got canned off to be replaced by Bauhaus, which was a great improvement. These lads would take some beating:
I've been looking for a copy of our early performances!! Can you keep it for me? The name? It,s Day V Lately!
Egyptian Hiphop at last years Great Escape! (Dont tell the Allams!) Most over hyped bunch of Manc rubbish ever, closely followed by The Courteeners (who are nice lads, but if they had come out in the 90's...)
JJ72 - they were massively hyped up at Leeds 00 and had a fit bass player, saw them a few weeks later at a gig in Sheffield and they were utterly pants and quite rightly ****ed off to obscurity where they belonged only a few months later
Check out the drummer who accidentally joined the wrong band, you have to give until about a minute in......
Ha! Seen that a few times OLM - its a classic! Taking nothing away from him though, he might look stupid but techniquely its pretty good. If a chimp on steroids is the image your after of course...Also - Good Shoes - great first album, managed to see them 4 times all totally by mistake and yet they somehow managed to be equally crap all 4of them. In the running for the ugly singer award too...
i wouldnt say worst band ive seen, because it sounds harsh, but i left Madness at hull arena a little disappointed.. they where ok, but i expected more, after been constantly told how amazing they where live.. its probably something to do with Hull tho, because Bon Jovi at the kc left me feeling the same way, but ive seen them in London and Manchester and they were fantastic..
OLM, that is truly the worst band ever!!!!! Don't know whether to applaud you for that, or make you hang your head in shame?
I've been to two gigs where I got complimentary tickets, but they were both behind pillars and I couldn't see anything at all and left within two songs. The first was Weller in Sheffield, then less than a month later I was at Oasis in Manchester and I could literally only see the speakers at the side of the stage. I walked out of the Weller gig after the first song and I was asked to leave the Oasis gig after two songs, having had a slight altercation with a security guard who wouldn't let me move.
Made it to 42 seconds! Can't take no more!! What medication were they on? They were out of the local Asylum weren't they??? If not, it proves that care in the community has failed!!
Went to see bon jovi at the richo arena last year, they were bloody awfull. been a fan for years loving their early music was really dissapointed in a show that looked like they didnt care and were just there for the dollar! Hang your head jon bon jovi!!
Only cause I was so shocked I had to get my nurse to up my opiate feed, and switch off the link! You should have put a health warning on that one Scooter!!
