Only explanation I can come up with is that he is a bad apple in the dressing room at the moment. Why else would he not be playing?
Perhaps Kenny is simply scared to drop Carra for a derby and feels Agger due to playing exceptionally well in the last 2 games gets the nod infront of Enrique. If that is the case, Kenny has made a big error.
Could be, haven't heard anything though. Would Kenny really opt for Carra soley based on being faithful to a born and bred scouser in a merseyside derby semi final?
I think it was the correct choice. Agger was on the field so that we had 3 center backs in play for set pieces, something that Everton are good at. That's what I think anyway. Could be wrong.
I still think it was a poor decision to start Carra and drop Enrique. Hendo offers no attacking width on either flank when Enrique could have been a danger on the left all game. Still, can't complain too much, got the result
I think it was tactical, not personal. Whether or not we agree with it is up to us, but then we don't know the full story.
Jose Enrique deserved to be dropped after a few poor games of late, when Agger came on at left back in the last two games he has looked solid and seemed an attacking threat (despite not showing that much today)
Carra did a reasonable job and we got the reasult we needed so, I reckon Jose should be back for the final. We need a character like his for a final against either of the cockneys!
So we drop Enrique after two poor games, yet play Carra instead after two seasons worth of poor games. Poor decision by Kenny, whichever way you dress it up. Luckily for us Everton didn't take advantage.
I hear Jose regrets leaving Newcastle. Of course this is pure speculation but maybe his poor performances are down to that hence being dropped? Either way it sounded like a crazy decision! Thanks for, practically, gifting us Europe though.
I would have started Carragher today, i believed he would provide experience in this high pressure game and have an understanding of the importance of the derby. He made a mistake, but enrique could of made two? Who knows?
As I said in the match thread, if we lost today you couldn't blame Kenny for Carra's mistake. He asked him to do a job and over the full 90 mins he did just that. I hope it is what you said though, that he was dropped after bad form or just no room for him with Carra being included. Enricky is a very good player, wouldn't like to see him unsettled.
