wow that was an exciting qualifying, well done nico! Mercedes 1st and 2nd and with mclaren 5th and 7th thay must fancy their chances for a 1-2 because with their straight line speed they will be tough to pass.
Hamilton is normally faster, even more so when Button doesnt have a perfect car. I'd say that Button didnt push too hard thinking he'd be on the 2nd row, but then Kimi and Kobay killed that.
Vettel! NO!! Rosberg though, finally paying me back. Excellent grid for tomorrow, McLaren and Red Bull coming through, Mercedes falling back, Kobayashi and Raikkonen left fighting for the win, can't believe I'm about to say this but it better not bloody rain.
Call me crazy if you want.. Kobayashi to win? Sauber have good starts, gets ahead of both Mercs who then hold everyone up..Also tyre wear..
Their car is more of a race one than a quali one so he has to be in with a chance. Was it Tombazis who said before Australia that Sauber were right up there? I thought he was crazy.
So either McLaren have already lost it, or we're watching the 2010 Button again. I dont know which would depress me more.
I've already given up predicting this season, there's no consistency within the teams, the cars let alone the drivers so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy it now.
I doubt either is true. A combination of his driving style and the smaller peak performance window of the 2012 tyres means he's always going to struggle in cool conditions. He might not have a good race tomorrow but once this weekend's out of the way both he and McLaren should be back on form. He should have gone out at the start of Q3 but 3/10ths for one position would still have been difficult. It was a fascinating qualifying with a great overall result and it gives us the potential for an amazing race.
the start will be very interesting.if button cant get his tyres working straight away he could really suffer. and will webber have another poor start.will lewis get off to a great start,if he does he's got a great chance to win the race if the mercs tyres dont last. will some of the big names get taken out at the start?
Grosjean v Alonso v Vettel should be interesting I would think, something there could happen as Romain is like a magnet for contact early on.
