    All you need is a top six finish to seal qualification anyway don't you? Even if Everton go on to win this you'll be in Europe next year for sure.

    If the winner of the FA Cup is in the European positions by the end of the season (1-5th) then the Europa place gained by winning the FA Cup is given to the runners-up instead, so if it was Everton and Spurs, for example, and Spurs won but finished 4th in the table, then Everton would get the Europa spot and the only spot on the table for Europa league would stay 5th.

    However, if two teams reach the final which are already in any European competitions, then the Europa spot from the FA Cup is given to the 6th placed team on the table. That means Liverpool must win, as they already have a Europa place due to the Carling Cup.

    Basically, if you win, 6th becomes available for Europe. If you don't, it's only 5th. If something else happens, such as Spurs or Chelsea falling out of the European places, then we'd probably be 5th or 4th anyway.

    Newcastle need 6 points from their remaining 5 games to guarantee a minimum of 6th place & Europa League entry.
