Six Liverpool fans are going to run the 76 miles from Hillsborough to Anfield in three days with the aim of raising funds for both Hillsborough groups â the Hillsborough Justice Campaign and the Hillsborough Families Support Group. This is the first time that both Hillsborough groups have supported the same cause. The Run is also supported by a host of Liverpool players past and present, including Jamie Carragher and Didi Hamman, as well as MPs Steve Rotheram and Andy Burnham. Sheffield Wednesday are permitting the Run to start on the pitch in front of the Leppings Land End where 96 Liverpool fans perished on that fateful day in April 1989 and Liverpool FC are allowing the Run to end on the field at Anfield with a half time introduction at their next home game. It is certain to be an emotional start at Hillsborough for all the runners but especially Earle Jackson who was at Hillsborough 23 years ago. âIt will definitely be a strange feeling at ten in the morning compared to how I remember it,â says Jackson, referring to the start of the Run on April 12. âI really appreciate Sheffield Wednesday opening the stadium for us and it will underline why we are doing this run.â Over the course of three days, with stops in Manchester, Hyde and Widnes, the team will cover essentially three marathons in three days. The brainchild of Dom Williams, who is leading his team of six runners and nine in the support team, this is the first time this run has actually been done in the 23 years since the tragedy. Hillsborough will open to the press at 9.00am on Wednesday April 12th for interviews as well as video and photo opportunities, with the run starting at 10.00am. The team will head up Middlewood Road off towards the Underbank and Midhope Reservoirs, before crossing the Peak District National Park to Manchester Hyde. Stickied good work LG (and an honourable mention to PMK as well). I'll keep my eyes peeled for any more info. Good luck to them
As I said on the banter thread, there are worse things in life than redundancy. Good luck to all involved. JFT 96

I hope LFc fans don`t take any offence with a Utd fan posting on this thread. Well done today (was supportin the toffees but hey ho). My reason for posting is RIP the 96 but i would also like people to spare a thought for the other 766 people who were injured on that day. As a mark of respect i will refrain from posting on football forums for the next 60hrs. My best wishes to the families of the 96 RIP.
