They're fully flex mate, i'll not cancel them till we decide we're going somewhere else, so if the game goes ahead, i'll be there. Win/win mate
I'm with you on that one Syd, we try to book our holidays where kids don't go, might do a cheap week away this year, so probs will be kids but next year is the one I'm looking forward to, going to Tanzania- Selous on safari then Zanzibar for relaxation on the beach. My perfect holiday has to be The Maldives, pure paradise.
Camping for us. Never contemplated such a thing until 3 kids came along in my 40's. We used to holiday in some great places but no chance now with one income and three extra mouths. Still I love it. Simple fun.
I've visited many places all over Europe, but probably my favourite place I have been to so far is Dalyan in Turkey..Great beaches, great scenery and lovely people.. I'm not too keen on the big resorts in Turkey mind, which are just as bad as all the big tourists resorts in Spain, Greece etc.
Off to Iceland (no not the shop) end of May then off somewhere else in June nothing planned yet both for a week. Shipyard fortnight is a no go for us as we both work and get lots of lieu days instead and it costs a fooking fortune then as well.
I went to Iceland nearly 20 years ago while still in the Army for "Adventure Training". A great place and very different to anywhere else I've ever been to ! At the time they still had this old law that beer had to be non-alcoholic (think they've repealed that now) - instead they threw a vodka into your beer to make up for the lack of alcohol - mental ! Shipyard Fortnight - now that takes me back - haven't heard it in years. I've lived away from Wearside for so long now i can't even remember when that is - anyone help me out ?
All opinions RAW, I know a load a people who love parts of Turkey, I should have said 'it's not to my taste'
Been going to Dalyan for @ 15 years now. You're right in everything you say about it We've got loads of mates out there now and it's great to catch up and chill out for 2 weeks every year
I think we can agree that we all have a taste to suit us and if it suits you its right, the beach would be horrendous if we all liked the same place for the same 2 weeks every year.
I can have my holidays whenever I want so off to Berwick for a week with the kids during the summer. Then might take myself to the west coast of Scotland or maybe the Antrim coast in N Ireland for a bit of fishing later in the year. Still have 21 days to take so plenty of time. My passport has expired & I have no intention of paying 90 notes to replace it, hate those bastard hot countries anyhow. Sitting in the sun does as much for me as knitting does.
My family, along with our lasses sisters family have stopped at a villa there a good number of times in recent years, and I absolutely love the place..
Don't have kids, don't plan on having kids and when I spend alot of money on a holiday the last thing I want is screaming bloody kids everywhere. My idea of hell.
